Comics Official Spider-man Pictures Thread

I really like the Ultimate Spider-Man picture of Peter and Venom opposite each other in the rain. I can't seem to find the picture online though.

Jim Lee drew Spider-Man? It's about f*^king time! It's weird though, because I remember reading somewhere that he doesn't like Spider-Man!

Check out the costume. Deodato redrew it at the request of Marvel's Dan Buckley. Seems that it is going to be a reference for the toy line. (My guess, for Spider-Man 3)

I took a high res file and manipulated the colors to match my decor a little better. I'm having it enlarged and framed. (...right after the artist signs it.)

Actually, it happens all the time in Marvel.

I run a company, and we work quite close with Marvel International.

In the archives, many famous images are used again and again in different ways for different products.

This is by far the best one I've ever seen though. It's mos def for the Spider-Man movie franchise, that IS the movie costume.

Could you send me the original? Even I haven't seen that before! Where did you see it??

Tell you what, if you want a very hi-res one, I could get one and send it to ya. Just give us a shout:)

I like this suit but the original always comes first.

I'd never thought that I'd say this about Jim Lee's art, but I don't care too much for his Spidey. It's cool, but doesn't complement his art that well. It looks a lot like Bagley's Spidey.

I recently read that Jim Lee is a Spider-Man fan, but the reason he rarely draws him is because his face is always completely covered up and you can't see his facial expressions and emotions because of it. He said that the character is difficult for him to draw because of that.

I also felt the same. I'm a huge Jim Lee fan and i've always wondered why he never drew Spider-man, he'd drawn all the other icons (X-men, FF, Superman, Batman).

He does have a couple of old pics of Spidey on the cover of Punisher: War Journal from way back in his early days, when his art wasn't quite as detailed and refined like it is now...but still looks good.

I also agree. As much as I worship JL's art, his Spidey isn't too impressive...at least at how his drawings normally look, which is always spectacular. There's only a few things the man can't draw and put his usual magic touch to it, and that's Spidey and TMNT. IMO his rendition of the Turtles is the worse thing i've ever seen him draw.

Well like I said, the reason his Spidey isn't as impressive as his drawings of Superman and Batman is because Spidey's face is always completely covered up and that makes it more difficult for him to draw.

i love that drawing, i cant see what anyone dislikes about it

Same here. All artists have there own way of drawing a character. Simple has that.

Just to clarify, "I" never said I disliked the pic. IMO Jim Lee is the best comic book artist that i've ever seen and MANY artist today try and duplicate his style or borrow heavily from it. And also IMO he can draw pretty much anything AND he has the uncanny ability to make anything he draws look awesome, no matter how ridiculous the design of the character is. It's just that personally I think his rendition of Spidey is somewhat "average" by Jim Lee standards. He still draws Spidey WAY better than many other artists but i'm saying that "his" Spidey doesn't convey his usual artistic greatness.

Someone posted earlier that JL has been quoted as saying he doesn't like to draw Spidey or has a hard time drawing Spidey cuz of his mask. I could definitely believe that cuz IMO his Spidey isn't on par with his usual drawings. But I would still love to see JL at least draw an arc or two on a Spidey book.

I'll just throw this one up there because I'm bored...I went to the Orlando Comic Con and I got Paul Pelletier (Exiles) to draw me a sketch of Spider-Man 2099:

The art, yes. The actual costume, not so much. And is it just me or is one of those robotic arms coming out of is butt?

was that actually in the comic? how does he take it off? or does he always just make it change into street clothes? or how do he and MJ be intimate with that on, it looks like ud need a screwdriver to get that off
