Alright, who's gonna watch Suvivor: Cook Islands this fall? I'll probably watch, but not with the same vigor and excitement as previous seasons. When a show needs to split its cast up by race as a publicity stunt, its getting a little old, IMO.

i'm actually looking forward to it. I've watched all the seasons of survivor. I don't think people quite got your post.

Unlike previous seasons of Survivor, the highest rated reality game show, where 16 people are usually split up evenly between 2 or 3 groups or "tribes", this season will split them up into 4 racial tribes, Asian, Black, Latino and White. 4 people in each tribe.

Discuss.

sounds like ARCHIE BUNKER came up with THIS survivor idea

Most racist bunch of bull I've ever heard of.
The only watchable survivors are the first two, the rest are just crap.

Well, thanks for clearing it up.

I'm sure we'll have more to talk about once the season actually starts. But in the mean time, is there any one from the areas where you guys live?

Well, last year the original split was between Younger Men, Younger Women, Older Men and Older Women, that only lasted until the first tribal council, this will probably be the way it happens again.

I've been watching Survivor since the first season and this season I am very excited.

I'm Af-American, and this new twist they have this season looks to be very interesting to watch play out. Hopefully it sparks some intellectual and thoughtful conversations on race relations throughout the season.

Remember, Survivor isn't always about who wins immunity and who gets voted out. It's a social experiment to see how people interact with each other and their environment.

Can't wait!

I´ve watched every episode of Survivor so far and I´m sure I´ll continue to do so.

I´m not to thrilled about having the tribes be divided by race lines, this could get especially bad if one tribe performs notably worse then the other three. I´m sure that the producers only intend to have this split last for the first two tribal councils and will merge the four tribes into two after that.

Still, I´m looking forward to watching this season, if nothing else it is certain to generate a lot of discussions on message boards.

I've never watched Survivor, but I may tune in on the first episode just to see how things play out.

I think its pretty inevitable that the white tribe wins everything:(

Having one tribe win everything isn´t as bad as having one tribe always loosing badly, it just looks a lot worse to have one ethnicity performing much worse then the other three.

I´m sure that the producers have gone to great lengths to try and balance the four tribes so hopefully things will be very even.
