Sorry. I never noticed the mention in volume one and I forgot about the mention in Ultimate War.

S'okay. It's mostly because of Mr.Ang's shpiel which I've heard one too many times.

Another thing that was mentioned in the issue is that the support troops were never trained for the kind of battle/attack they were involved in.

Yeah. The problem with being one of the richest countries on the planet is that you rarely expect other countries to catch up to you in military technology that quickly, so in the event that they actually do you're left dumbfounded.

1) They neede Natasha to be secretive about it. They didn't want to call atention to themselves, so they had a spy in the Ultimates to leak information to them.

2) The Ultimates were unable to stop this thing because A: they probably didn't expect a massive invasion force to take America like what happened here, and B: Cap and Thor were incarcerated, Iron Man was kept out of the fight, and the rest were just overpowerwed.

3) The invaders had their own version of the main team to take care pf The Ultimates in case something happened (like Thor and Cap escaping, for example).

4) What "Roman Empire"? One of the members of the invading team called America "the new Roman empire" but that was the only mention.

It seems that she has implants of some sort that either:


A) Increase her strength, speed, reflexes, and agility.

B) Increase her hand to hand combat, weapons, and tactical skills.

C) All of the above.

Other things to think about - Tonys covered in Nanites as seen in ultimate Iron man.

Someone mentioned this protecting him if Natasha shot him, but when i read through volume 2 again and he was proposing to her in the sky she said somethign about the nanites on her.

So if thats true, shes not only enhanced but is Tonys equal biologically.

And when Fury lost his arm, does anyone think it was done surprisingly unepically for the head of Shield? I actually missed it first time round.

An enemy soldier basically barges into him fist first and his arm detaches?

Oh and I loved the way Black widow was seducing Tony at the time of betrayal. Black widow literally - amazing.

An enemy super soldier. I'm under the asumnption that those flying guys have super strength along with flight.

Remember when she and Hawkeye took out that office building full of Skrulls?? Remember how fast she ran??? She was a blur. She mentioned being enhanced then.



Makes me wonder if Tony could take her down.

Probably not. First of all, she's black ops military trained, meaning she knows hundreds of different ways to kill someone and could probably do so succesfully with minimal effort. And, if she is supposed to be enhanced in some way, it would be someone using those skills with superhuman prowess. So, the whole "hit her over the head with a chamaign bottle" thing probably wouldn't work.

Yup, it's like the suits worn by Captain Britain and the other European Captains. Flight, superstrength and a forcefield.

And, if she is supposed to be enhanced in some way, it would be someone using those skills with superhuman prowess. So, the whole "hit her over the head with a chamaign bottle" thing probably wouldn't work.

It shouldn't, but you never know in comics. If I'm not mistaken it's Ultimates #8 where Hawkeye and her are shooting up the alien infested building.

I have yet to miss an issue of ULTIMATES but, I'm still missing plot points.

Or, since he's an eccentric billionare super genius, he might have hidden weapons/gadgets placed all around his room. Oh, and I didn't finish O.S. Card's mini. Does it have Tony continuing to have the bio armor to adulthood?
