would you have rather found out about this movie when they first started production? this film has been in development for a while...

Agreed Wholeheartedly! :up::up:

If only Neil's The Sandman was getting a faithful adaptation in the right hands...:csad:

CAH

I never, ever want to see Sandman as a movie.

I would LOVE to see it as an HBO type TV series though.

Cine, are those official concept artworks? Or fan-made?

Also, can someone try to summarize what this film is about. I'm excited about how this project will be filmed, but the story sounded confusing last time I tried to research it.

those are official concepts...

...as far as what the movie is about from what i can remember, it's about a beast (Grendel) terrorizing a town and Beowulf (either king or future king) has to travel to the town in order to slay the beast. but like i said....that's all i can remember, i'm sure there a lot more to it.

THERE WE GO! Thats what it is about. I read Beowulf in high school, but the problem is that they make you read it during senior year. Honestly...who the heck is paying attention during senior year? Senior year is when everyone is slacking off and s--t.

yeah...i remember reading it my senior year too. it was one of the only books they made us read that i gave half a damn about.

English class during senior year was a joke. Did the teachers really expect us to read so much? They made us read Beowulf, Hamlet, and some other stuff I can't remember.

Here's the story...
Beowulf and his men go to Heorot to help King Hrothgar defend his hall from Grendel. He attacks while they are asleep, and kills a few of his men. Before Grendel gets away, Beowulf tears his arm off, sending Grendel running off to his mommy.
That's only the begining. There's also a fight with Grendel's mom and he recieves Hrunting. Then years later, when Beowulf is king of his homeland, he goes to slay a dragon with Wiglaf and other warriors. Wiglaf is the only one who stays with him to fight. Beowulf dies will killing the dragon.

Polar Express, but updated. Don't know about the naked stuff though, I don't think she has legs in the film.
There was a ton of info in the old thread, where did it go?

Zemeckis has been obsessed with animation lately. :( We need some old school Back to the Future type stuff from the man. :)

There are two actors playing Beowulf
Alan Ritchson(Aquaman from Smallville) is playing the body motion capture, while Ray Winstone is providing the voice.
I hope the it's the same for Wiglaf because he's a young warrior, and Brendan Gleeson is kinda...old.
