There's no denying that Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are both hugely influential gaming companies with enormous marketing budgets to promote their biggest titles. Just a few days ago, EA released a short film (well, it really was a trailer, but let's stick to the main topic), set in the Anthem world, directed by Neill Blomkamp, the renowned creator of District 9, Elysium, and his most recent film, Chappie.

It looks like Ubisoft has fully acknowledged that Anthem may attract The Division audience and just released a new live-action trailer for Tom Clancy's The Division 2... directed by Nicolas Winding Refn!

Yes, it looks like both companies are "sparing no expense" to promote their MMORPG video games. Considering that Anthem releases this Friday, Ubisoft will probably flood the interweb with new The Division 2 information to overshadow BioWare's latest title's launch. In the meantime, be sure to take a closer look at The Division 2 story trailer directed by Drive and The Neon Demon helmer down below:

Washington D.C. is on the brink of collapse. Lawlessness and instability threaten our society, and rumors of a coup in the capitol are only amplifying the chaos. All active Division agents are desperately needed to save the city before it's too late. You are a member of the Division, an elite group of civilian agents charged with being the last line of defense. With DC at risk, it's time to gear up and use your unique skills to take on this new threat.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will be available March 15th, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The Division 2 ‘Endgame’ trailer
Published 1 day ago. 5 comments.

"This isn’t the end, Agents. The fight for our city has only just begun."

Division-2-PV_02-21-19.jpg

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for The Division 2 dubbed “Endgame.”

Here is an overview of the game, via Ubisoft:

About

Seven months have passed since a deadly virus hit New York City and the rest of the world, crippling the population. When the virus hit, The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper agents, was activated as the last line of defense. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains.

For The Division, the stakes are higher than ever. Washington, D.C. – the most heavily protected city on earth – is at risk, leaving the entire nation on the brink of collapse. If Washington, D.C., is lost, then the nation falls. As a Division agent who has been in the field for seven months, you and your team are the last hope to stop the fall of society after the pandemic collapse.

Developed by Ubisoft Massive and the same teams that brought you Tom Clancy’s The Division, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is an online open world, action shooter RPG experience set in a collapsing and fractured Washington, D.C. This rich new setting combines a wide variety of beautiful, iconic, and realistic environments where the player will experience the series’ trademark for authenticity in world building, rich RPG systems, and fast-paced action like never before. Play solo or co-op with a team of up to four players to complete a wide range of activities, from the main campaign and adversarial PvP matches to the Dark Zone – where anything can happen.

Key Features

  • A Transformed Washington, D.C. – In the wake of the virus, storms, flooding, and subsequent chaos have radically transformed Washington, D.C. Explore a living open world full of diverse environments, from flooded urban areas to historic sites and landmarks, during one of the hottest summers in history. The streets have been overrun with enemy factions, each with its own agenda and each vying for control of DC. It will be up to you to liberate the city and protect what remains of society.
  • Best In-Class Endgame ExperienceTom Clancy’s The Division 2was built with an “endgame-first” mentality, ensuring players always have access to fresh, unique, and diverse activities long after completing the main campaign. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2’s endgame will introduce brand new challenges and progression systems, unique twists and surprises, and for the first time, raids. Players will also be able to access a wealth of post-launch content, including a full year of free additional story-driven missions, map expansions, and gameplay modes.
  • Revamped Player Progression and New Specializations – After completing the main campaign, gain access to new specializations such as demolitionist, sharpshooter, and survivalist. Each specialization will open up an entire new progression system with new skills, mods, and unique talents to acquire and maximize your agent efficiency in your chosen role.
  • Dynamic Living World – Civilians and enemy factions are constantly striving to survive, vying for necessities such as food, medicine, and ammunition. As the factions face off against each other in a ravaged DC, they will fight to seize control of resources and locations – and for their very survival. The various needs and motivations from each faction will collide, triggering different encounters between enemy and friendly factions, civilians, and ultimately you as an Agent, creating a dynamic living world full of surprises.
  • Unite the Civilians – Civilians have banded together in settlements to rebuild their society, but their very existence is threatened. Work closely with them to keep them safe and in turn, they will come to your aid and provide supplies and assistance to build up your base of operations, giving a deeper meaning to the people and the world around you.
  • A Renewed Dark Zone Experience – The Dark Zone is an untamed area of the map with some of the best loot in the game. The Dark Zone is also the most dangerous area in the game, where fear, betrayal, and tension are high, as any other agent can turn against you and steal your hard-earned loot. In Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, this playground was designed to provide a fair and exciting experience to all players, regardless of their level of progression.
The Division 2 is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 15.

TOM CLANCY'S THE DIVISION 2 Trailer Prepares You For the Tough Decisions You'll Face In The Dark Zone

Ubisoft has released yet another trailer for Tom Clancy's The Division 2. This one focuses on the Dark Zone, though its more of a cinematic narrative trailer than an actual gameplay overview.

The trailer provides a little context for entering the Dark Zone, which serves as The Division 2's open-spaced PvP-enabled zone, where you can earn some pretty valuable loot while taking on roaming NPC enemies as well (or murdering other players and stealing their loot).

The Division 2 splits the Dark Zone into three different instanced areas (West, South, East). Each supports up to 12 players at one time and offers their own distinct landmarks, environment, and challenges.

The trailer highlights some of the internal struggles a player may face when playing in the Dark Zone. "Will we help those in need," the agent asks. "Will we cave into temptation? Will we betray our own instincts? The deeper we go, the closer we get to finding out what we are capable of doing."

Find out how far you may be willing to go in the trailer below.

Behind these walls, you never know who you can trust. The deeper you go, the more you'll see what Agents are truly capable of.

The latter part of the trailer, of course, is alluding to the options you have of going "Rogue" in the Dark Zone. That is, performing some not-so-moral deeds in order to acquire better loot. This could include acts like breaking into a locked loot chest, looting a dead player's body, double-crossing a fellow agent you come across, or just going on a complete killing spree.

What sort of player are you? We'll find out soon enough then Tom Clancy's The Division 2 launches on March 15, 2019, for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

The long-rumored Tom Clancy's The Division 2 open beta starts today, giving you a unique opportunity to play the highly anticipated looter shooter until Monday, completely for free. Considering that Ubisoft Massive's latest project will finally launch on March 15th, there's a rather big chance that the ongoing open beta is your very last chance to test The Division 2 before its long-awaited debut.

What's even better, this beta is not under an NDA, so Ubisoft encourages everyone to capture and share their experiences and opinions with the community. In the beta, you can play three Main Missions solo or in co-op, prove your skills in PVP, experience the endgame, and beat five optional Side Missions, available for everyone who prefers to branch out from the main storyline: Empire Autumn Hotel, MLK Library Hostages, National Archives, Department of Justice, and Bureau Headquarters.

According to the developers from Massive, The Division will feature a 40-hour campaign in a torn and boiling Washington D.C., but it will be just a small beginning of your great journey into the post-apocalyptic federal capital city of the United States. Unlike BioWare's highly divisive Anthem, The Division 2 will feature plenty of endgame activities at launch, with even more content coming to the game after its debut (including three additional specializations and brand new high-level challenges).

Ubisoft has released a special gameplay trailer for the game, allowing you to learn more about some useful tricks and tips that will help you to survive in Washington D.C. a little bit longer. Take a look:

The long-awaited Ubisoft Massive's Tom Clancy's The Division 2 finally releases this Friday, giving all players a chance to save Washington D.C. and its hopeless citizens. The highly anticipated looter shooter takes place seven months after the deadly virus was released in New York and ruined the once-great city, so it's up to you (and your seven friends in online co-op) to bring law and order back.

Considering that The Division 2 sequel is just around the corner, it comes as no surprise that the French company has released a launch trailer for the title, giving you a chance to learn more about the game's unique setting and main characters that will help you to upgrade your base – the fallen White House.

That's not all, as Ubisoft has also shared another live-action trailer for The Division 2 directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives), this time showcasing the titular group in action.

The third trailer is focused entirely on the Echo experience, taking users into the world of The Division 2. To give it a try, all you need to do is use Facebook Messenger on your mobile device and go to the location prompted on the map, allowing you to "relive" the past just like in-game agents. Seven months after the deadly virus was released in New York and ruined the once-great city, the story of the brave few who risk their lives to protect humanity will be continued in Ubisoft Massive's Tom Clancy's The Division 2. Admittedly, the fact that this brand new looter shooter is set in a summertime Washington DC might disappoint some fans of the first game and its wonderful take on NYC in winter.

While it's hard to please everybody, there's no denying that the digital version of Washington in The Division 2 is a thing to behold. Just like its critically acclaimed predecessor, the sequel is filled with little, barely noticeable details that make the whole experience a bit more special, from incorporating real-life disaster planning to abandoned in-game vehicles that have been drained of their valuable fuel.

Ubisoft has also released a special trailer that sheds new light on The Division 2’s exclusive PC features, optimized with AMD. According to the French gaming company, PC players will have a unique chance to enjoy an optimized game with uncapped frame rate and display resolution, full UI and HUD customization, multi-screen and widescreen support, variable refresh rate support, and HDR support.

Be sure to take a closer look at "The Division 2 vs. Real Life" and "AMD PC Features" trailers below:

While lucky owners of Tom Clancy's The Division 2's Ultimate and Gold Editions can play the highly anticipated looter shooter right now, those who pre-ordered the standard edition or are planning to buy TCTD2 when it finally debuts will have to wait until Friday to check out Ubisoft Massive's title.

During yesterday’s Inside Xbox event, Microsoft has released a brand new trailer for The Division 2, putting the spotlight an all the enhancements the game's Xbox One X version will feature at launch.

According to Microsoft, it will support native 4K (4096x2160p) and HDR10. Considering that TCTD2 will also run at 60FPS on XOX, this version of the game would certainly put it ahead of the competition.

The upcoming launch will be just a small beginning of your post-apocalyptic journey in Washington DC, as Ubisoft will introduce three all-new specializations during the game's first year of post-launch support, new raids, challenges, and weapons. Be sure to take a look at the "Far Away" trailer below:

The first major drop of all-new Tom Clancy's The Division 2 content is now available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC in a free update, titled Tidal Basin. The titular location a new challenging stronghold held by the deadly Black Tusk enemy faction, and after conquering it (solo or with seven other players in co-op), you will gain access to more "invading" missions, along with new exotic weapons and special gear sets.

As revealed by Ubisoft Massive, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2's Tidal Basin update features:
  • A new world tier—WT5, with a new gear score cap to 500
  • Heroic difficulty
  • Three gear sets—Ongoing Directive, True Patriot, and Hard Wired
  • A new faction stronghold—Tidal Basin
  • Weekly Invaded Missions
Considering that Ubisoft has already confirmed a full year's worth of post-launch content for The Division 2, it definitely won't be the critically acclaimed looter shooter's last, or even biggest, update.

Starting on April 25th, players will have an opportunity to take part in Operation Dark Hours, the first ever 8-player raid for The Division 2. In the meantime, check out the game's latest trailers down below:

I’m going to back to mop up some achievements, starting with finishing any missions I haven’t already done on Hard.

Apparently that new Raid is impossible unless you have a whole squad of 8 players properly specced out, communicating and using good teamwork. Doesn’t sound possible with a few randoms thrown in there. I won’t be trying that for a while.
