The CG looks fine, some people have to remember that any film with CGI is gonna have moments where the CG us obvious, it's inevitable. Don't let it ruin the film for you, I know I won't.

But there's nothing wrong with that floating shot at all so I don't get why people are having a dig at that

People complaining about the CG in the floating shot. Well first of all I don't know how much is even CG. It's more the compositing that feels a bit off. It's Cavill on wires in front of green screen composited on to a studio set or CG background.

It's one single shot so far that feels a bit off, nothing that even worries me the slightest. The compositing in STM isn't always perfect, yet the movie is so immersive and magical that it never bothers me. The effects and such are, in the end, only as good as the whole, in my experience

Plus that shot looks like it has been cropped. Maybe the whole scene has other things slightly out of frame (at least in this shot) that are closer to the foreground like Superman and in sharper focus. Possibly this balances everything out. I certainly won't judge it based on a tiny isolated part of a much more extensive scene.Just look at how great the Black Zero has been inserted into the Metropolis skyline. That looks totally real to me. I suspect floating MOS will look way better up on the big screen.

Seriously?

Oh well, we all have different perspectives on stuff :-)

Just seen this being talked about, figure I chime in with my first impression of the still.

The first thing I thought of when I seen this pic was the flight scenes in Superman: TM with Chris Reeve. It does honestly look like a projected image in the background. Grainy and blurry.

With that said, it's a still, it's not gonna look anything like this pic on the big screen while Sups is flying at Mach-10 saving people and kicking some serious kryptonian azz! The action will happen so fast no one is going to be anylizing anything, cause they won't be able too.

:)

I think once it's all in motion it will be such an exhilarating ride that we won't even notice. When it comes to visuals Snyder has an attention to detail no?

I don't have an issue with the floating shot either.

And I realize that it might annoy people that I don't have a problem with 99% of what I've seen. I know some will think that posters like myself are sporting "rose colored glasses" but I really don't have those problems and can't force myself to.

I'm okay with people not liking this or that shot or being leery of this or that plot point but I'm not really. I love all of the footage. The only things that worry me slightly are the 3rd act not being done well, hoping that the Jesus or Moses stuff isn't pushed as hard as it was in Donner's films and Returns and hoping that Cavill is more than decent. I think Cavill comes off very well in the trailers and spots so maybe that is just a stupid worry. Overall though I am just overwhelmingly excited about what I have seen.

Aaaand, case closed! Nail on the head my friend! :)

I think people should not judge CGI based on trailers and tv spots. From my experience these thing always look worse in the clips than in the final film. Besides I think even the normal shots look bad in these TV spots. The colors are muted the black levels are off and everything is very smooth. Also I'm not sure that catching the soldier shot is finished because there are some artifacts there if you freeze frame it. Like they didn't fully incorporated the two characters in the scene yet. But these are my opinions so take them as you will.

Blast em up! Good looking heat vision ^

I kinda hope he has different variations of heat vision of the ability or strength of heat vision on show in the movie. Smallville's heat vision was pretty spot on, they seemed to indicate with the effects used that for example the heat vision to make toast would look significantly different & less intense than if he was trying to stop someone from attacking him or someone.

The shot of Supes from Man of Steel looks very, very intense & very powerful, which is a food thing & a bad thing.

The thing with CG, since we know it exists, we think we know when were looking at it. If something looks to have an effect on it - it must be CG.

For instance, remember that shot of the suit spinning round in the FoS in trailer #2? It turns around slowly revealing the S shield. Some people really thought that it was CG for some reason. Sometimes CG is just CG. And sometimes people look just too damn hard.

OH GREAT!! Thanks for ruining the movie for us!! J/K:cwink: Actually that is so clever what you have done there, putting the footage in some kind of chronological order. i'm surprised nobody else thought to do this. Kudos to you.:yay:

I started doing the same with Superman footage, haven't added the new stuff yet...

The only shot so far I didn't like was the one where he catches the soldier.

upload pictures online

That quick closeup of the cape is animated badly as is his head secondary action. But I anticipate some iffy flying CGI double shots. But its bound to be way better than the CGI flying Neo from Matrix Reloaded with his super starched suit.
They are clever with this in that the flying scenes are super fast and blurry.
Can't wait!

I dont want to be adding more complaints on the cgi, but this is the only scene so far that I thought the cgi looked really bad. There are computer games with better cgi than the one in this scene.

Its Green Lanterns fault. I remember Warner giving the go ahead for more money to be pumped into the cgi. And because that film bombed hard, I think Warner or whover is in charge of finance, is being more conservative when it comes to the budget.

But I have seen computer games (not gameplay, but cinematic cutscenes) with better cgi. Everything elese looks really good except that one particular scene. Its by no means terrible, but its not the best cgi scene either.

People complaining about CG? Really? :D It's like with every big movie, you always have one guy saying it looks bad, jesus. It looks top notch here, and even then, there will be, as there always is with every CG heavy movie, a couple of shots that arent up to par, it's just how it is.

People complaining about cgi in heavily compressed "720p" youtube videos is just

^ Im sure it will all look really great on the big screen so im not worried about any said particular scenes.

Damn, why haven't WB uploaded the new spot.

I'm getting worried.
