Next in line is Evans, so what chance is he gonna have if he can't even get passed Machida?

It's all about styles & who is better on the night.

This was a very, very cocky Rashad just coming off a Chuck Liddell KO that thought he was good enough to stand with Machida. Tried constantly fienting shots that Machida never bought.. rather than doing the smart thing & the thing he did against Rampage later in his career & actually try to get the guys that might give you trouble on the feet, on their back. I don't think he made a single takedown attempt in this fight.

Also just because I saw someone else displaying MMA math heres one for you.

Makes no sense. Just because 1 guy has beat another doesn't mean they could have beat everyone else that, that person has beat. It's all about the styles.

Impressive fight by Jones, but still, only one **** defense under his belt. I am not ready to put him on a pedestal or say that Machida, Evans, Hendo or anyone else can, or can't beat him. Too many people jump to conclusions too fast, myself included at times.

Everyone thought Machida was the next real deal and would change everything in that division. He had one successful title defense, and a controversial one at that? Jones is a good fighter, he's proven it. Great, not yet, but the potential is there. I don't care for him personally, but that doesn't keep me from admitting he has the tools to get the job done.

If he has a few more title defenses, then he may be entering the realm of greatness. While he didn't run through Rampage, as others have mentioned, he was never in any real danger. Only time will tell.

Wow. Jones haters are hilarious. The guy smashes Shogun, then he is the first man to finish Rampage in years and people are still acting like it's hype? This is like hating Deion Sanders in his prime.

Not even close, Deion was the real deal and arguably the best corner of all time. Jones isn't anywhere near that level, yet. But I see what you're getting at.

Jones isn't at Deion level yet, but going by his career so far he may become the best MMA fighter of all time. The only young champ that comes close to being this great is Jose Aldo. We're spoiled!

You guys see the vid where Dana says spike is being dishonorable? It's funny spike is just using what they learned from the ufc, counter promotion. The ufc did it against affliction, elitexc, strikeforce and also when mma made it to CBS. It's funnier since spike will counter promote with the ufc's own fights. I say good for spike.

shogun and ramapge are similair in that they are slow plodding brawlers

machdia with his counter striking and able to keep distance and great timing

and rashad with his speed and explosive takedowns

I don't like how cocky Jones is, but I don't doubt hes talented.. however this comment is silly.. especally after 1 title defense.

Hes beat a rusty Shogun that didn't look anything close to 100% & Rampage who while is tough, is a fairly one dimensional fighter that rarely tries anything other than try to take your head off with a hook.

Got a long tough road to be an all time great nevermind being the greatest ever.

I don't care how rusty people think Shogun was, he'll always be at a disadvantage with Jones. He has no takedown defense at all, and his cardio has always been ******. Jones would brutalize him in a rematch. You can't beat Jones when you can't stay off your back.

His cardio was fine in the first Machida fight. It's not always bad. He's been through wars with some of the best.

Though I think Hendo is beating Shogun. Bad matchup for Shogun as well.

His cardio was fine in the first Machida fight because there wasn't much grappling, and that was the only fight he's had that went past the 1st where he didn't gas.

Yeah against a guy people were saying was unbeatable and was going to dominate light heavyweight for years. WELCOME TO THE MACHIDA ERA!

Also his fights usually don't go passed the first because he destroys them in the first. Don't think he gassed in the Nakamura or Lil Nog fights either. Lil Nog/Shogun was one of the best MMA fights ever.

Shogun has won 17 of his 20 wins by knockout. When he's got guys on the ground he puts them out with his hands. Not only that I only think three of his five losses are actually legit losses.

hendo has been dropped his last 2 fights and when shogun drops you it is over seconds later

Hendo gets hurt but he always keeps coming and usually recovers. Only Anderson Silva rocked him hard enough where he ended up getting submitted. Shogun's BJJ and submissions in an actual fight are nowhere near Spider's level.

Hendo has one of the best chins in the business, and Fedor was a career heavyweight who was heavier and had the bigger reach advantage.

After he got rocked by Fedor, he recovered quickly and was scrambling back for a single.

If he didn't have the better cardio he wouldn't have been able to continually take down Nog and pound him and grind the fight out.
