So Frank Mir is also using the TRT, just wanted to put that out there ;) .

Ellenberger is my boy and all, but he really needs to work on his cardio. I have no idea what the hell he was doing last night. Even when he knocked Kampmann down he just threw a quick flurry with no defense, then just...laid there on Kampmann the rest of the round besides one ground and pound flurry. How the hell did he gas from that? He's got the tools to be a champ, but if he doesn't get the cardio fixed he might not be one. His power is great, and normally his defense and wrestling is good. That huge cardio hole could be a big issue. Sure he can knock anyone out, but you don't want to have to rely on that.

Kampmann on the other hand racks up another big win. His record is a lot better than many guys realize. The guy has beat Condit, Alves Story, what should have been Diego, and now Ellenberger. Outside of possibly Fitch there really isn't a guy in the welterweight division with so many top wins besides maybe Condit, who he beat. I'm taking GSP out of the equation there because it's too obvious, but the point is that Kampmann has had a really put together a very good record. I doubt he'd beat GSP, but right now he deserves a shot more than anyone. I wish he'd get to fight Condit, but since Hendricks is up next I'm cool with that.

If it makes any difference, Mir was tested and all his T:E levels were within the allowed 1:1 range.

E-Man, it happens in a fight. Kampmann is a very good striker and kickboxer. He nailed Ellenberger with a big left hook and then followed it up with some vicious Muay Thai knees.

Let's not get carried away here, E-Man. The Kampmann-Condit fight was intensely close. Several fighters backstage thought Carlos beat Martin. So it wasn't definitive but The Hitman did get the W, however, it's The Natural Born Killer with the title right now.

Kampmann is a very good fighter but he always manages to blow his title contention bouts. He was losing to Alves before the reckless takedown transpired and he got knocked down, and rocked by Ellenberger twice.

kampmann's problem imo is he fights his opponent's fight

he stood in the pocket with daley
he grappled with shields
he brawled with diego

Kampmann has had some close calls, but he's racked up some big wins. It's kinda funny because I don't pick him that often, but he keeps coming up with the W. I would like a redux of that Condit fight considering how close it is, but Condit is waiting for GSP. No one is probably beating GSP, so that fight would be a good one to watch while he's on the shelf. Sure anything could happen. I'm not counting anyone out, but GSP would be highly favored over anyone at 170 for damn good reason.

I really can't blame Condit for waiting though. Look at what happened to Karo when he was supposed to fight Hughes. Then there's Pettis. Plus the dude has kids. If he wants to take some time to chill with them that's fine by me. Sucks we can't see him fight the rematch to a good fight and defend that belt, but he doesn't have to do anything but stay black and die...err I mean stay white and die.

best thing for him

he cant hang anymore

seeing how easily cain handled big foot and how badly fedor got handled by big foot it is pretty clear where he stands

fedor even had trouble with brett rogers

Fedor is undoubtedly the heavyweight G.O.A.T. I wish we could have seen him add the UFC heavyweight title to his resume, but no use crying over spilled milk now. He was the man, and he had a great career.

There was a time Fedor could hang with the bigger heavyweights, but those times have changed. The division has changed too.

Best thing for him, he is irrelevant as far as MMA Heavyweights are concerned now & has been for about the past 6/7 years as far as I am concerned.

Riiiight. :o

He fought Arlovski in 2009 (hate it all you want but Andrei was the consensus #2 heavyweight on the planet). Same thing with Barnett before being busted for PEDs. Both were ranked higher than the UFC's overrated champion in Lesnar. So Fedor was relevant.

:o:cmad: what?

Fedor has not been relevent in the heavyweight MMA rankings since Pride ended & he started taking freakshow fights & fights with guys that were done.. or never that good to begin with.

:funny:

He was only the consenus #2 to the same idiots that thought Fedor beating a middleweight, a guy that was 7ft in a freakshow fight & Tim Sylvia was enough to keep him cemented in the number #1 slot for 3 years after he'd been competing with the best heavyweights in the world at the time in Pride.

Fedor never fought Barnett so that's completely irrelevant.

Rory MacDonald called out BJ Penn.

I think at this stage of BJ's career Rory will wreck him.. I think he is too versatile, younger, quicker & strong for Penn at this juncture.

One things for sure, Rory's next fight needs to be against someone in the top 5 or so, or someone on a good roll in the top 10 because he is making mince meat out of the somewhat lower to mid-tier welterweights. He needs to be taking on someone like Koscheck, Fitch, Kampmann, Alves, Hardy, Shields.. someone with a bigger name in the WW division to really bump himself right into the thick of title contention.

B.J. Penn Accepts Rory MacDonald's Challenge

That was quick, B.J. obviously doesn't want to be called out by a kid & wants to put some hurt on him... I see MacDonald winning fairly comfortably, I think he'll get B.J. down & he'll quit on himself.

Also for those that care, I know I do:

UFC signs with EA Sports

Kinda disappointed with this as I thought the EA MMA game they brought out a few years ago was really ****e. Visuals were excellent however the controls, fighter animations for certain things & whatnot I didn't care for at all.

Although I will give it a shout as THQ won't be making anymore MMA games so if I want to play one it's pretty much gonna be the EA UFC game or nothing at all.

Shogun vs. Vera? WTF is this ****? When Shogun's camp turned down the fight with Glover it was supposedly to fight a bigger name, but they pick Vera of all people? There is no Shogun nuthugger logic that can deny how questionable that is. Vera hasn't had a big name since 2007, and anyone who remembers him knows him as a guy who hasn't done a damn thing but lose after hyping himself up. This is a ******** move. If Shogun turned down Texeira for someone like Bader or Davis it would make sense, but taking on a guy who shouldn't even be in the UFC is just straight up ducking a harder fight for a gimme. I hope Vera beats Shogun. It would be funny as hell after this.

Dude, get over it.

Fedor was the number one HW on the planet and Arlovski was number two. That's that. You can't argue it. You can b***h about it, but the UFC's HW division was unproven and had an overrated champion.

Vera? WTF? He's still with the UFC?

Man, Shogun must really be on a decline if he refused a fight with Glover. Damn. As a Shogun fan, I'm quite disappointed. This appears like the end for Rua.

Texeira is a killer. If he's got great TDD, we could have a unique challenge for Jones again.

I'm well over it, 6/7 years over to be precise seeing as that's when Fedor was last doing things that were relievant to MMA heavyweights. Maybe you should take your own advice & get over it.

I can argue it & I already have. In 2006 it might have been the case that Fedor & Arlovski were the #1 & #2 best heavyweights in the world, but in 2009 they certainly weren't.

Except they were in 2009. It was universal on every major MMA publication site. The highest Brock ever got was #3. Deal with it.
