Weird, the 19th page didn't show up for me the first time....

With such a weak field this year anything's possible. Besides it was a great movie.
What's going against it is that there already is a "Best Animated Feature" category, and I don't think the Academy will vote it for both. Best Animated Feature win will be a lock, no question. Ratatouille was apparently on the shortlist for Best Picture last year, but didn't make the top 5 for a nomination. Maybe they think they can make top 5 this year.

I still think that TDK has a better chance than Wall-E, even though a superhero movie's never been nominated before. 94% on RT, 96% on BFCA and $500 million+ can't be ignored. :woot:

Pixar can still market it though. Almost every big film has some kind of Oscar campaign, no matter how remote. :funny:

I'm still mleh over Ratatouille's original screenplay nom last year. (Even my screenwriter friends were like WTF?) I felt that the third act was very weak compared to the rest of the film, and I feel the same way for Wall-E.

The Incredibles was fantastically entertaining,Toy Story 1 and 2 were amazing, funny and inspiring...but Wall-e is the only Pixar movie that has pierced me right through the heart.

A real gem,a heart-aching story about love,courage,determination...a story where the people were bigger machines than the robots.

It was thought-provoking,philosophycal while being sweet at the same time.

If you hate animated movies and only wish to watch one, this should be your choice.

I couldn't agree more and honestly I was NOT expecting to like this film...I was dragged in with my 2 sisters (particularily the little one) but I ended up LOVING it.
It was also very innovative because it felt more like Pixar's amazing shorts...it was mostly a silent film save for the humans at the end.
And who would've guessed that two robots who can only say two things "wall-e" and "eve" would steal your heart?

I really really hope that this gets an oscar nomination. Its hard for me to chose which was better: Wall-E or The Dark Knight.

This is truly Pixars Best.Film.To.Date....and that is fact :o

Guys, please watch this film if you haven't already its one of a kind

If this movie gets nominated, then The Dark Knight needs to be as well.

It will be one or the other. Sure they don't have much chance of winning but if either did... it would be fantastic.

this is off topic...but is there a kung fu panda thread? didn't have successful search.

Dark Knight will definitetly get the nom over Wall-E. In fact I think that would be what would stop Wall-E from getting a best picture nom since the Oscars powers that be won't want too many "mainstream" films getting in to the big categories.

I agree completely, but I do think that Wall-E has a much better shot then any animated movie since Beauty and the Beast.

Well, I wasn't asking to be a ***** a I was asking to get an idea of what your search result was. I know they have issues with the search.

Wall-e was a great movie...im definitely buying it...but if it gets the best picture nod over TDK...id be very upset(not like i matter...im just sayin)

this movie is a instant classic and the best Pixar movie to date.Wall-E and Eve made the movie so enjoyable, a perfect 10

anyone else pick this up today? This was one of the films I finally got a Blue Ray player for,

i got the blu ray at midnight. It looks stunning!

I LOVE this movie!

Wait, how come I never posted in this thread?! :cmad:

Wall-E is, without a doubt, the best animated film I've ever seen. This movie touched me in a way no film has in years. It's a beautiful beautiful flick, and it deserves all the praise it gets. By far, Pixar's best effort to date.

10/10
