Why are people allowed to keep making these lame spoof movies. I don't think spoof movies in general are lame, just the recent ones. None, absolutly none of them have the great humour and wit as oldies like Airplane or just about any Mel Brooks film.

*I use "parody" in the loosest sense. Actually they just completely rip off scenes from different movies and ask a 4 year old (or at least someone with the brain power of one) to come up with some stupid joke at the end. It's really a wonder they haven't been sued for copyright infringement yet. If you want to watch a genre parody as it SHOULD be done, go rent Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Those were actually 2 that can hold up to the classics I mentioned in my previous post. That is very true, there not even doing a genre parody like they should be doing. It's just literally ripping off 300, if there were justice in this world they would be sued for stupidity and unoriginality.

I haven't even seen the movie yet. Is it my fault I'm a sucker for This. Is. Sparta. spoofs. Geez.

The First was pretty funny, but after that meh.... and the 3rd onwards with out the wanyes brothers sucked. even if they were by the same directors as Naked gun!

The thing with spoof movies these days is, they take current events (like britney in this one) and play on them, in 20 years time who the hells going to remember that?? not many people, so these movies wont stand the test of time like Naked gun, Airplane, blazing sadles or space balls.

Edgar wright and simon pegg had it right with Shaun and Fuzz. they took refrences from classic movies and worked the plots around them, these other spoofs just make a movie from the things they are spoofing (badly)
