The new Spider-Man Back in Black handbook is out now at all comic stores.

Written by the long-time writers at Spiderfan this volume is an amazing read as it features detailed profiles on- Gwen Stacy clones, the Symbiote race, Kraven, Silvermane, Deb Whitman and Clifton Shallot (Vulture III) among others.

It also has an update on Spidey himself which goes into detail to explain via diagrams-
the science behind his Iron suit, the stingers and his body’s manufacture of organic webbing.

If you don't have it go buy now.

I thought it was VERY cool.

What do you guys think of Peter's new strength-level? (20 tons)...

Aloha,
Not only his strength level but the whole upgrading of the powers of Spider-Man.We knew all of these things but this book kind of makes it official. The 2004 Handbook had him at 10 tons and the 2005 had him able to lift 15 tons. He's getting stronger as we speak:yay:
Spidey rules

I just don't really see the point of another strength upgrade unless he is gonna start fighting stronger villains. Even so he does not really need it. At 10 ton level Spidey was strong, but not incredibly so for a superhero. What made him great was the managing of all his different powers to overcome his foes. That's one of the things I always liked.

This might just turn out to be like when he had the cosmic powers and eventually he will return to the 10 ton level.

It acknowledged the clone saga, therefore it rocked.

I enjoyed it. Reading about Spidey's powers more thoroughly made me hate those stingers just a teeny-bit less, so one step at a time...

And they addressed the Gwen Stacy clone(s). That bugged me for far too long!

The symbiote race bio was nice. Marvel finally gave those LF symbiotes offical names.

Nice info on Spider-Man. a 20 ton strength level and increase in speed (from 15 times faster than a normal man to 18 times faster) opens up the possibility to more amazing feats. By the way, has anyone notice that all of Spidey's enemies are getting stronger as well? There was a time when a 10 tons strength level made someone a significant threat in the Marvel Universe. Nowadays, 10 tons makes a character nothing more than a strength enhanced sparing partner for Marvel's elite fighters to beat up on (Cap, Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher, Shang Chi, etc).

When was the last time he (Spidey) used the stingers? Night-vision? What I would really like to see is Spidey use his new sensitivity to changes in air currents (via body hair) in conjunction with his Spider-Sense. This I imagine would make him an even harder opponent to hit.
