i thought in the synopsis of the movie superman was supposed to deal with a planet that has went on without him but that didnt seem the case. wasnt that one of the themes of the movie.

I think it was, but Warner made him cut a lot of stuff out.

nah i loved the movie, ive seen it twice already and im gonna see it a 3rd time, but it wasnt long enough for me and i think to make it longer they shouldnt have cut those damn parts.

Yeah, they went from 'the world doesn't need Superman' to 'Yay he's back' pretty damn quick

Really? I know alot of Krypton stuff was cut out.

Honestly, the film was centered around Superman and Lex. That's all I needed.

lol....can you blame them? He's ****ing Superman. Of course they want him back.

I think the one having real problems was Lois.....I guess you can say she represents that part of the world that couldn't forgive him for leaving, still feeling hurt.

I thought so too. The trailers that I most enjoyed focused on his isolation, but besides being rejected by Lois, we didn't get much of that at all.

Maybe the focus on that theme was edited out, but I still think they could have had Lex take advantage of the world being unsure of Supes's return instead of that ridiculous real-estate scheme. Would have hit the "isolation" theme home more.

A good example of this was the cut scenes of his mom moving on.

"Not even you can stop the world from spinning." She was dating Ben Hubbard and they sold the farm and were moving to Montana.

That would have added to his isolation....

Its not false advertising, but misleading advertisment. The world may have learned to live without him, but they needed him. It's LOIS who moved on for real. When Superman says, "You wrote that the world doesn't need a savior, but everyday I hear people crying for one" that explains the whole movie pretty much.

Yeah good point. This point was quickly ignored. The only scene that dealt with it was "You wrote the world doesn't need a saviour..."

And that was one line.

I didn't think there was much of a decision at all.

I loved that line

I can't wait to watch the uncut DVD version of the film!
