Old Fan Needs Advice

I've been out of the smallville loop since about the 2nd or 3rd season...if I were to get any of the other dvd sets besides the first two which should I get? I've heard that it's kind of jumped the shark...

well I wouldn't recommend getting season 4 or 5 without seeing season 3. So if you truely want to see this show, I would get season 3 and then each season after that until you personally feel the show jumped the shark.
