I'm going back and reading threads from a few years back and it's like being transported in time... and then I come back to the first page, and I'm transported back to ****ville.

Golden Age fallacy (rose-tinted glasses): The past was always better than the present.

In other words, you remember things as better even if they weren't and only remember or see things that were positive. Of course I could be wrong in this case, not being one of the old guard but I've fallen into this trap myself on another board where I've been since 1999. It usually takes someone to smack you upside the head to remind you of the negative things and the problems that were also plaguing the board at the time.

It was cool, but rose tinted. 09 is the best year anyway. We got a robot, a drunk dingo, Script Man, and Sexual Chocolate Black Dynamite Jr.

At the same time you're right because there was much more y'all could say back then. Too much sensitivity now. You can talk about ice cream and it would offend someone because they feel you're attacking them since you didn't talk about their favorite flavor.

I think one of the problems with the hype today is that we had so much fun with some of the stupider threads and with today's hype, the fun, dumber threads not only get closed, but deleted off the face of the hype too.

Some mods gets too delete happy.
