Except for Irons and maybe Peck depending on his performance in Discovery.
I feel this cast sucking up all the charisma out of the air. Like a black hole where charisma (and acting talent in the case of Eastwood) goes to die.

I think it was spoof casting where they were all the offspring or descendants of more famous actors:

Ethan Peck - Gregory Peck
Dakota Johnson - Don Johnson
Scott Eastwood - Clint Eastwood
Patrick Schwarzenegger - Arnold Schwarzenegger
Max Irons - Jeremy Irons

Oh I didn't catch on.

It shows that talent isn't an inherited trait...

Your comment might indicate talent is inherited.

Without recognizing the shtick, you liked the two that came from the most talent.

While things worked out for the other three, I'm not sure that their acting prowess can be compared to Gregory Peck or Jeremy Irons.

Yeah, Ah-nold wasn't much of an acting talent in the first place. Clint Eastwood is better at directing than acting. He's not exactly the most expressive. "Laconic" was the word most often used to describe him. And Don Johnson doesn't have that much to pass down to Dakota Johnson.

I think Don Johnson's a pretty decent actor. His performances in Tin Cup and Django Unchained are pretty good evidence of that, but that's not the point I'm trying to make.

The point I'm trying to make is that there are obviously times when talent clearly is inherited.

Kirk Douglas to Michael Douglas

Judy Garland to Liza Manelli

John Bonham to Jason Bonham

Archie Manning to Peyton Manning

I could go on and on.

Point is ..... pedigree is a thing.

Patrick has a good look for Johnny, is the right age- but I don't know about his acting prowess

The jury's still out on Ethan Peck's acting, but he has the look and the voice, so so far, so good.

And while we don't know a lot about his acting ability yet, if he has half the acting ability of his grandfather, I'll take him.

Dakota Johnson is also the daughter of Melanie Griffith and by the transitive property, the granddaughter of Tippi Hedren.

How about Nick Robinson for Johnny?

I have actually seen Ethan Peck before in something. He was in a couple of episodes of Madam Secretary apparently. He played the son of Bebe Neuwirth's character Nadine who was previously estranged from her, but then they began a relationship again. He seemed okay. He didn't particularly stand out as being bad or good, one way or another. Just normal.

It was only a very small role though, so not something I would've even been paying attention to at the time. I didn't even remember he was in that until I looked up his credits.

Alex Kurtzman, the current showrunner of Star Trek Discovery said this about Peck however:

"...the showrunners were looking for an actor who could “effortlessly embody Spock’s greatest qualities, beyond obvious logic: empathy, intuition, compassion, confusion, and yearning.” Kurtzman says Peck seems “aware of his daunting responsibility to Leonard, Zack, and the fans, and ready to confront the challenge in the service of protecting and expanding on Spock’s legacy.”

Hopefully he'll prove his acting ability and could be a very viable candidate for Reed.

If Peck just got a gig on tv though he might be too busy for movies? Remember Ackles?

Hey which hairstyle should Johnny Storm have? Because sometimes he looks good...

And sometimes...

While I like that FF cartoon, the character designs were not the best.

There's a big difference though. Jensen Ackles was the lead of his own show.

Ethan Peck has been cast as Spock in Discovery. The series is not about the Enterprise but the Discovery, and specifically about Sonnequa Martin Green's character, Michael Burnham. The Enterprise crew, including Spock, are not regulars in the series but will be occasional guest stars.

And neither of those hairstyles look good for Johnny Storm. Keep it like in the classic comics.

Both Johnny and Sue are gonna go thru a few different hairstyles over the course of their appearances.

Am I right in recalling that Sue had a costume where the "4" was cut out as a cleavage window? Hopefully they won't have that.

I want the "4" right in the middle of their chests this time, not a little badge off to the side like in the Story films. And they didn't have any symbol in Fant4stic.

I still don't know who to cast as Johnny, but at least I have 3 out of the 4 figured out in my mind.

Yes, please. 4 in the center of the chest.

Nick Robinson would be a good choice as would Dacre Montogomery

I hope they do something that's more like a tough cloth as opposed to the skin-tight rubbery suits with fake muscles that have become common.

Kirby typically drew their uniforms with some wrinkles in them, so they felt more like cloth rather than spandex:

I'm thinking something sort of like this:

Without all the straps and other details that would look like a tough, practical heavy-cloth. Maybe something that would look like modified flight suits.

Why is Reed in Daredevil's costume? And why is Ben behind him with grey temples? And why is Johnny behind Sue with brown hair? And who is that blond guy at the back in the FF uniform?

Marvel have avoided going the padded muscle suit route so far so I doubt they change that for FF or X-Men.

Black panther is pretty padded. More visibly so in the new suit. But not as obvious as the Superman suit or batman's

Yeah, I think the Black Panther and Spider-Man suits work well, and they don't have the overdone padding (Shazam looks ridiculous on that point), but I'm hoping they don't go the skin-tight rubber route - with or without padding.

We've seen enough of that type of costume - including the first FF film.

I like the Captain America suit above with a little simpler design.

And/or they might be able to take some inspiration from the new Space X suits.

They could look at the Star Trek Discovery uniforms for inspiration, especially Vok's suit (I forget what his human name was). He's the one standing up in the 2nd pic who doesn't have gold on his uniform.

I could get down with that in terms of having some bagginess. I honestly cant wait to see what marvel comes up with. The costume design in the mcu has been great imo.
