I love some of the older radio shows like The Lone Ranger, Tarzan, Lights Out, Suspense, Inner Sanctum and Escape. Am I the only one?:)

There's something special about shows like that, especially the horror stuff. I'm not a wimp, but many of the episodes are scarier than the horror movies they make today:

The Thing on the Fourble Board (Quiet, Please):

That episode is so creepy...:csad:

Do you have any recommendations?

Yeah, love the character and i actually really like the Baldwin movie. Haven't listened to the Welles radio show but my brother tipped me off on that one. I'll see if i have time to listen to em all, now that im off work during easter. :yay:

I like the movie too, I have probably watched it 200 times or something:hehe: the radio show is pretty good as well.

Ever listened to The Blue Beetle? You can find all of the episodes on archive.org.

No, haven't heard that. The only Blue Beetle i know is the DC character. Im gonna download it and listen to it tomorrow. I read the description of it on archive.org. It sounds intriguing!

It's the golden age Blue Beetle, Dan Garret.

Dan Garret

I believe Nite Owl (Hollis Mason) from Watchmen is based on the golden age Blue Beetle.

The Beetle started as a Fox (No, not the Studio) publication in 1939. For some reason the book went to Hollyoke before reverting to Fox. When Fox folded Charlton bought the rights, reprinted some and did a small revision. Dan Garret, rookie cop, powered by Vitamin 2x became Dan Garrett, archaelogist, powered by a mystic Scarab.

Then they really revised him when Ditko took over. Garrett was killed off and replaced by his student Ted Kord, who couldn't use the scarab and had to use his athleticism, vast wealth and gadget making as the new Blue beetle,

DC got Charleton's characters in the '80s and did their own revisioning a few years back.

The radio show, starring Frank Lovejoy was entirely the Fox character.

I haven't listened to many old time radio shows except a few from the Authors Playhouse. I have been listening to quite a few of the Doctor Who Audios though. They're quite good.
