Omar Khadr

My personal opinion is that he deserves the money.

Soldiers in general deserve more support from their governments when they come back from war, but I don't believe that the widow of the soldier that Khadr allegedly killed should sue him for a share of his settlement.

The whole thing is messed up on both sides. This is exactly why everyone needs to get due process, whether you're a pastor who jaywalked to get to a dying man or a sadistic serial killer.

To be honest, I feel the government should not have settled, and fought in the courts and lost, for nothing more than optics purposes. However, yes, just because of the entire legal circus that happened here, Khadr does deserve this, though I am not convinced he's no longer a danger to this country.

His parents are super messed up, that's for sure. I guess it's a good thing that his dad is dead, but his mom sounds like a problem. I'm sure that the government and every outraged citizen will keep an eye on him.

I did read that he was a model prisoner though, if that means anything.
