JW, anyone else on here watching this show?

As an aspiring film maker I find it to be a great and really interesting show.

I definitely am. I hate the way reality shows are put together, but as an aspiring filmmaker as well, I too find it interesting.

The only thing I hate is how shows are airing these days. I missed Thursday's because I had no idea it was on.

I liked it. Some of those 2 minute bits that they made were pretty damn good. I really liked the one with the special effects titled "Time Out". That **** was :wow: Especially for something that was put together in less than 24 hours.

As all reality shows tend to have. There were a couple of pricks on this show. The biggest one was a guy who wore a Dodger's hat. That dude acted like he was already some big shot Hollywood director :whatever: Talking down to one of his teammates. I was happy to see him go.

In one of the 2 minute bits. I saw Reginald VelJohnson (Carl Winslow from Family Matters) in it. And he's in another project in the next episode with the chick who played Ashely Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Also, you can see the full 2 minute clips on the show's site.

And yeah, I was more than glad that guy was thrown out of there- he didn't belong there, the guy was given an opportunity of a life time and acted like a jack ass. One thing a director needs to be is a team player, not a dictator.

Yeah, also, they have Travis Wester as one of the actors. He played Harry Spangler in Supernatural's first season episode 'Hell House' and was in Europtrip.

He wasn't seen in the show- but in the online 2 minute films.

The Reginald one becomes very interesting, but, imo, somewhat ends abruptly.

Next week is a 2 hr ep. on Monday.

I hate reality shows but I may watch this.

I don't like reality shows but this is an exception since I want to be a film director. I love the concept and some of the short films are good...like time out. Im so happy that annoying guy left...the guy who told the other one he was talking too much when it was really the other way around :whatever:
But I can't wait to see next episode

What a joke...this show needed Spielberg and Zemeckis on the first episode...not Bratner.

Really good episode last night top favorites:

NOTE: NO PARTICULAR ORDER

1. Andrew's "Spaced Out"

Just a really original idea. It was far out there, but still seemed grounded. The aliens are really great. Lol.

2. Marty "The Big Bad Heist"

Although he didn't follow the objective, that's actually a film I might be interested in checking out in it's entirety. He does have that Tony Scott type visual look mixed with a "Hot Fuzz" type comedy aspect. Overall another very good and interesting film.

3. Will "Lucky Penny"

A very charismatic film. I agree with the judges in that it was very Buster Keaton and the heart seriously came through the film.

4. Mateen's "Soft"

Although there were some things that took away from itself. I love his visual style and I want to see where he takes this. Reminds me of a young Spike Lee.

5. Zach's "Danger Zone"

A really really great film. I am amazed by the special effects he is able to come up with. Really funny, quirky and original.

6. Trevor's "A golf Story"

Really funny film. The miniture golf could have been made clearer. But, I just loved his spoof on the genre.

7. Phil's "Please Hold"

I personally never saw the concept in a film before, to this extent at least, and I found it very hilarious and relatable because I've also had to deal with operators that seem to go on forever.

8. Sam's "Replication Theory"

Yeah, it was about farting... but, as the judges said- he makes farting into a very quality joke, which alot of the previous films failed to do. It was a very interesting, quirky and overall funny film that had a lot of heart.

I wanted to watch it.. but then they mentioned Brett Ratner and Hollywood legend in the same sentence, so I turned the channel.

Zach's Danger Zone was the best last night. Go Vancouver!!

Jesus Christ, how many times has the hostess flubbed her lines this evening? I never thought anything could make me long for the professionalism of Ryan Seacrest, but there you go.

Spielberg has said he's going to show up later in the season.

Wow, only 3 Million viewers. This either shows the show is real sucky or the world isn't into filmmaking as much as everyone thinks.

I finally watched the Monday episode, and I am extremely disappointed in almost all of these people. Very few of them have any creativity.

The films are cheesy looking, not to mention, what's with the stupid music being used in every one? I'll give this show one more week, but I can't say I'm impressed so far. Sucks, because I love filmmaking and was really looking forward to it.

How the hell can Brett Ratner be a judge on this show? What the hell? What Rush Hour was such a great masterpiece? He ruined X-men :cmad:

I went to high school with one of the current contestants. Weird. Good luck to Jess, she deserves it.

I watched one episode and that was enough. I thought the show was flat out boring! I'll stick with Project Greenlight which is much, much more entertaining.

it started well enough, but it all went to hell when they decided to rip off American Idol. the hostess is completely clueless, they have no idea which format they want to stick with and it's pretty clear that this show shouldn't be an "America votes" thing.

it had a lot of potential, but it was completely obliterated. I honestly cannot understand how a show produced by Spielberg and Burnett, two of the biggest names in their respective mediums, could turn out this s#!tty.
