It was cool to see Sabin again.

Why did they change the rules with holding multiple titles? It would've been appropriate to have the X-Division champ against the World champ at Destination X.

It looked like Sabin legitimately hurt his knee again tonight.

I would have liked them pitting champion vs champion with the idea that Austin would have to relinquish the belt if he won the world title, since that generally is what happens in real combat sports and it would set up a tournament for the relinquished belt.

But I guess the idea is to set a hook for next week with the idea that Aries is in a tough spot that could cost him. I kind of like it since it then sets up an interesting story for Aries if he loses to Roode.

It also makes the Word title look that much important. I know some fans want the X-Division title to look just as important as the World title and will be pissed if Aries gives it up and say it looks weak, but the reality is the World Title should always be above the rest.

TNA is actually doing a good job at making the X title look important by Aries having to think about what he is going to do. It would be smart for him to cut a promo putting over the importance of the X Belt before he ultimately decided to give it up for a shot at the world title.

When did TNA hire a flabby John Cen- oh my god that's Kenderson.

...

I'm gonna go watch paint dry 'stead of watching this.

While that may be, I can also see the problem with having a dual champ (storyline wise). Hogan can't have his big hoss holding 2 belts and only running 1 match a night. Look, all 3 major singles titles were on the line tonight. Can't do that every week if Aries is holding 2 titles.

Also, a test for Aries. Is he really a man of his word and believes he's above the XD title? Drop it then and go after the big gold. Go big or go home.

I missed the ending to Impact..What happened?

Sting got jumped by 3 massive dudes in masks.

Ah..Yeah likely JJ sent them and the dudes may be from Mexico's Triple A or something!

No risk no reward. I agree. Its easy for Aries to ask for a title shot but this shows how badly he really wants it. Its not just all talk if he's willing to drop the X Div title.

I LOVE Sting's facepaint design tonight! That is just awesome!

It reminds me exactly of what he did with the Crow paint by putting his own twist on it without making it look exactly like the original.

I noticed it looked different tonight. I like this new look better than the ever evolving joker crow paintjob. It has that wild look but it looks more edgy.

yup

I've noticed lately he's been getting more and more creative with his Joker paint by adding touches of his Crow look in with the lines around the eyes. Tonight's was even more different than usual.

Sting has done a great job updating his look and reinventing himself. His best ring days are behind him to and the smartest thing he can do is keep the character side of him fresh. Much like the Undertaker, Sting's one of those guys whose look is one of the most important sells to their careers.

Metallo I think you put it best, wild but edgy.

That was a good edition of Impact after Slammiversary. Sorry that I had glitches due to the thunderstorm in my area.

I'd like to see Austin Aries drop the X-Division title to somebody next week like Kid Kash or Zema Ion before going after the World title at Destination X. Maybe have Bobby Roode cost him the title. Chris Sabin is not having the best of luck in injuring his knee again.

The gauntlet battle royale was good and it set up for James Storm's road back to the World title picture as he's gunning for Bobby Roode. Storm did a great promo and that's the James Storm we need to see. The other story involves Kurt Angle/ AJ Styles/ Chris Daniels/ Dixie Carter.

Hernandez got a push to pursue the TV title against Brother D-Von and Brooke Tessmacher did a great job on her first title defense as Knockouts Champion. Brooke Hogan is doing a great job as Knockouts VP as she sends Gail Kim on her vacation.

The World title match between Bobby Roode and Ken Anderson was good, but I wish they didn't put commercials during it. I want to see Bobby Roode's reaction to Austin Aries' pursuit of the World title. He'd have a problem with Aries calling himself the Greatest Man Ever Lived.

Sting gets attacked by what appears to be 3 ninjas who kidnapped Samoa Joe. This is likely Jeff Jarrett behind it as the last time we saw Jarrett, he got fired by Sting when he was General Manager along with the fact that Sting is inducted first into the TNA Hall of Fame. Yes, I like Sting's facepaint that's a cross between the Crow and Joker of Dark Knight.

And I think it's one of TNA's best ideas as a story to help continue to solidify the importance of the World Title and Aries while allowing someone else to rise up and take that X-Division Title in a new direction (Zima Ion perhaps).

Also, just gotta say, not having Kenderson say a word AND tapping made my night.

This is what I like the most about the story. The X-Division has basically been Aries holding the title and nothing else. I'm hoping with him giving up the belt that this will put a new and stronger emephasis on the whole division.

Mark Haskins will obviously be brought back to be a part of the division, as I saw he was on the post Impact show.

Haskins, Doug Williams, Sabin, Zema Ion, Kid Kash, and possibly Joey Ryan. X-Division could be quite entertaining again.

Man, I should really start watching Impact on a regular basis. It sounds like I really missed something last night.

Yeah , I'm going to catch up online sometime this week.

I was watching the 92 Rumble last night and noticed Hogan wrestled as a heel. First he runs into the ring and eye gouges a bunch of people, then he rips his shirt off and starts choking someone with it , and then recklessly abandons the shirt in the middle of the ring for Irwin R Schyster to get ahold of.
Later in the match after he is fairly eliminated by Sid he turns to the audience in disbelief as if he was somehow wronged. Then he grabs Sid hand and won't let go allowing Flair to get the win. Sid got screwed. Meanwhile Hogan causes a huge fuss and several referees have to come down. Flair didn't get the chance to celebrate in the ring because of Hogan's selfish whining but at least he gets to cut a nice promo backstage.

Bummer :(

TNA wrestler Chris Sabin suffered a knee injury on Thursday's Impact Wrestling taping. The extent of the injury is unknown, but a source noted that it "doesn't look good." Sabin suffered the injury during the Ultimate X match when he landed on the floor.

EDIT: Dixie Carter tweeted Chris Sabin tore his ACL last night in the Ulitmate X match.

Sabins luck has been pretty rotten in the last year. I was also wondering how badly he may have been hurt because it looked like a real injury. At least he has Velvet to play nurse for him.

The end of that Rumble has always seemed screwy to me. Hogan becomes a sore loser when all Sid did was follow the rules. There are no friends in the Rumble when you get right down to it.

There was lots of politicking going on there. The belt gets taken off Hogan instead of him losing it. Flair has to win it via the Rumble. Hogan makes sure he's there to help Flair win and take some of the credit and hog some of the spotlight. Its great Flair won and I have no issues with a heel winning in dirty fashion but the moment wasn't truly his. At least one could claim Sid was strongly protected in his elimination.

AJ's nuttier than a Payday.

And even I'm starting to dig it...

So much wasted potential in that era. I still can't believe we didn't get a Flair/Hogan program back then, when they were a little younger and in the flagship company of professional wrestling at the same time.

Here is a great Slammiversary highlight video TNA put out today.

What makes this video so cool is the different camera angles and close ups they use at various points. It gave it a unique feel. Loved this!

It does make sense now considering Hogan's politics. They really missed the boat on an interesting feud and probably put a dent in Sid's career.

That was a great package:up:

This wouldn't surprise if it's true. I'm actually kind of irritated by it:

Triple H Reportedly Against WWE Utilizing Mick Foley On Television

Submitted by Daniel Pena on June 15, 2012 - 1:54pm
Posted In:

Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer was asked by a reader during his radio show why WWE has not utilized Mick Foley on television more frequently since his return to the organization last November. He said this is due to wrestler/executive Paul 'Triple H' Levesque's lobbying, who is resentful of "The Hardcore Legend."
Meltzer reports Levesque deprecates Foley whenever his name is broached in creative meetings. While Brian Gewirtz, WWE's Senior Vice President of Creative Writing, feels Foley is a creative and a good performer, Levesque thinks otherwise. He says Foley 'doesn't look tough' and can't be taken seriously as an in-ring performer.
A former WWE creative writer told Power Slam in 2008 under the condition of anonymity that Levesque would disparage Foley whenever he appeared for the company, and in the process, diminished his value in the eyes of Vince and Stephanie McMahon.
"Foley is an out-of-shape nobody," Levesque was reported as saying by the writer. "No one cares about him at all. Funaki puts more asses in the seats than Foley does. He should pay us for coming on our shows."
Meltzer believes the real reason Levesque still holds Foley in contempt is because he gets irritated over the consensus of his closest co-workers that his memorable matches with Foley in 2000 'made him a star.'
Foley has criticized Levesque in the past; he took several veiled shots at 'H in his 2007 autobiography The Hardcore Diaries. He also took issue online with Levesque belittling ring announcer Lilian Garcia with a remark he felt was hurtful during an April 2010 episode of Raw. Foley acknowledged then that he may have cost himself professionally, but felt he had to stand by his principles.
