An all-time movie classic is being spun off for the small screen as it has emerged that the rights holders behind One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest are cooking up a new series adaptation.

Speaking on indie filmmaking podcast CK Café, producer Paul Zaentz, the nephew of the film’s original producer Saul Zaentz, disclosed: “Just now, I’ve signed an agreement with Ken Kesey’s widow to develop a TV series which we’ll make through the point of view of the Chief for the first season. Following the first season, we’ll see what happens to the Chief after he escapes [from the psychiatric hospital].”

I seem to recall no one giving a rat’s ass about that Ratched series a few years back and that had ****ing Sarah Paulson as the lead.

So, umm… good luck, gents.

It also would have helped if the Ratched show wasn't boring as all hell. :o

Wow, I forgot that Ratched show even existed.

And seeing what happened to Chief after Cuckoo’s Nest for an entire season sounds about as missing the point as that Ferris Bueller spinoff about what happened when the two guys who took Cameron’s car for a joyride.

Yeah I don't understand the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Universe idea either. It was a great movie/book/play but no one is asking for this.

Listened to the podcast, sounds like the first season would be another adaptation of the novel, while another season would be after the escape.

We don’t need a season about Chief’s escape.
