Yup it's all down to fatboy and his perception of what Spider-Man 2007 should be. A lot of creators who have worked on Spider-Man do actually think Spidey should have never gotten married to MJ because they are different types of people, but the thing is- they have been married in print for 20 years and the fact is their characters do fit together. They have have grown into the people they are today, wiping all that away now makes no sense.

Yep, that's my position, too. I've always hated MJ, but for Joey to destroy them on a self-centered whim is ridiculous. I wonder if he's tried that with his friends... "I don't like the fact that you're married, you have ONE MORE DAY... make it a good one."

VVDX grumbles to self: "... not telling my wife about Comic Convention plans again... no more cancelled reservations for me..."

He can slowly revolutionize the entire Marvel Universe in fact and give EVERYONE "one more day" as he shapes the world into his liking.

Maybe he'll wake up and decide Thor should be married! "This "Thor Single Controversy" is keeping me awake at night"....

Lol, while I do admire that you want to perhaps save some folks some money/stop sales for bad story telling, you aren't making a lot of sense here.

None of us know as of yet what the story will be like. Although there is a high chance we're all going to be unhappy, you run the risk of looking over the top and foolish if the story turns out to be great

Joey Q squirmed A LOT during the WWC Marvel pannel every time the marriage of MJ/Peter came up, finally he said that he's not a big fan of it and that it didn't work for HIM. After that, a lot of people "BOO"ed at Joe. It was such a great site to see. Excuse me joey q, but this isn't about YOU, guess you are seeing that huh.

We are wearing him down guys, of course he won't realize that till the damage is done. Okay, newsarama says keep the marriage, they did a poll and it's for the marriage, people "BOO" at him in Chicago...these are hints here Joe, use that fat mellon ontop of your neck.

That could be whats going to happen, but as I said befor, I think if the split up the marriage, etc. The storyline will be affected by it.

So...i am hoping for something smart that progreesses the marriage and doesn't take it back light years....until the next recon.

Honestly at this point I can see both sides of the Spider-Marriage. I grew up with them married, but I can understand how people can think it has to end sometime. People will always know Spider-Man as a young high school to college aged kid with girl troubles and theres no reason he can't go back to that for future generations of comic readers.

What REALLY bothers me about all this junk is that sure Quesada will be "putting the genie back" but Spidey STILL has organic webbing, spider-gods, and is unmasked to name a few things wrong.

Somehow all of THAT stuff is pure gold and theres no reason to blast it out of existence in some crazy cosmic occurrence. Why oh why would you waste such time getting rid of the marriage but not use it as a point to start completely clean?

And the other thing is......the OMD "ARC" has been SO OVERLY HYPED thru so many different media outlets, for SO long....way way before it comes out...that this ARC is prolly gonna let people down from how hyped it actually is, regardless of story.

It's kinda like some movies i've seen where....i was too hyped and too excited to see them...too many pre-reviews and shows on....and then when you get to the actual movie it kinda feels like a letdown, even tho you like it.

Where...some movies turned out AWESOME feeling because i had no expectation going in.

That's one of the things i don't like about these "ARCS" or "EVENTS".

Instead of surprising us with a good issue, someone dying, etc.....the go out of their way to push the "next exciting arc/event" and next creative team...instead of putting out 12 good "issues" a year. They advertise way ahead of time that "someone will take a dirt nap" and etc etc....thru interviews, media outlets, etc.

Well, with the begining of Brand New Day, we're supposed to get 36 good "issues" per year... no arcs, one continuing saga.

If they were to suprise us and not have the marriage end, then that would be great. But why do something us Spidey fans don't like? All it's going to cause is for people to be angry. Just like it did with Spidey unmasking himself.

I've been back and forth on this. I love mArvel, a lot, and if you love marvel, you most likely like spider-man. I thought I did until I read fallen son spider-man. The way Peter went after Rhino, he was a jerk. Then I realized that's he's done this before. Spider-man angers me. Peter Parker does as well, but not that much. I don't like the character of spider-man, but I love the stories. Anyway, I'm not sure I can afford BND after OMD. I'm still not "buying" one more day, though.

If they don't do anything stupid or drastic to Pete and MJ's marriage...i'll buy the TPB.

If Pete ends up single, hanging around Harry and Gwen again acting hip, with MJ secretly out fighting crime...i won't be collecting Amazing Spider-Man 3X a month.
