That's the picture that started the ball rolling for me. I joined and posted regularly from that moment onwards. I had just about a whole year of Hype here with you all, until Spider-Man 3 came out. And now it's been a year since its release. So what've you been up to? What boards you been on lately?

Truth be told, the Spider-Man 3 boards were my home when I fist joined the hype . . . and I've never found better boards since! :yay: I thought a thread dedicated to the anniversary would be a good place for all of the old faces you barely see anymore to come and say hello, and see whether their opinions on the film have changed or mellowed in the last year.

We can use this thread to remember some of the funniest moments here in the Spidey boards, and we can use it as a pure fix of nostalgia. It's been a while since we've all been in the same place together. So I'm looking forward to seeing some of you again

No, I'm not on drugs! :o

I've mainly been in community since its release, with brief periods on TDK boards . . . it's not the same though :woot:

So come on! Spill it :yay:

Wow, a year from today was the night I whent to the midnight premiere of Spider-Man 3. I've been doing very well since then and I really miss the night I whent to see this film. I loved it!

Heh! Now there's one of the old faces I was on about :D

Good to see ya man. You still got the hots for the film?

I joined April 05 and it was so freaking cool when they were filming in New York and Powder-Man posted all those awesome pics. Haven't heard of him since Summer. That's when we saw the black suit spider for the first time and a bunch of other stuff. Good times! I loved the fanart and manips thread but the mods deleted some wonderful artwork.

What made me want to join was how hyped I was after reading that Q&A which ended up being right about everything.

I still enjoy the movie. After multiple views, I notice the flaws but still think some fans overreacted. Great trilogy, anyway.

I still enjoy it! I must've watched it about 7000 times in the last year :)

I just like it for what it is, and have forgotten what we all wanted it to be.

I remember all the hate when NG's design was shown in the trailer. LOL I didn't like it myself, but like everyone else, I grew on it and now no one (including me) gives a damn. Franco was my favorite part of the film.

Man, even though I didn't join the Hype boards until a few weeks before Spider-Man 3's release, I kept track of the ALL the news and ALL the hype for the movie. Seeing that black suit Spider-Man picture for the first time gave me CHILLS.

Has it REALLY been a year since Spider-Man 3's release? Dang. Time flies by so quickly! The night I went to the midnight show was really fun. Sure, I did get a bit annoyed with the crowd that attended the midnight show, but spending that night with my mom (yes, my mom LOVES the Spider-Man movies almost as much as I do!) was a lot of fun. Waiting in line to go to the theater, taking pictures with people in costumes, eating a lot of junk food, and doing a lot of night driving after the movie are all things I fondly look back on. T'was a fun night, overall. :)

So, even though Spider-Man 3 may have disappointed me to some extent, I still enjoy watching the movie and I don't regret being a part of the hype because I enjoyed it. Even if I downright HATED Spider-Man 3 (which isn't even close to being the case), I still wouldn't regret getting into the hype.

Seeing this thread makes me want to watch the movie right now ... And I think I will!

Ah the memories of the days when this movie was being made. So many fun times. We really attracted some colourful characters back then. Best memories for me are:

- There's something in Spidey's eye in the black costume poster. People were actually banned because they got so nasty in their insistence that there was something significant reflected in the eye. Hilarious.
- Complete denial from people about Sandman being Uncle Ben's killer. I remember one guy swearing he'd lose all faith in the comic book movies industry or something if that happened. And how he knew Sam Raimi would never betray the fans by doing that. I think he got banned, too, after we found out it was true. Made a thread about it and everything. There was fireworks.
- Bruce Campbell was playing Quentin Beck. Yeah right!
- Black Cat was going to be in the movie. Wow, that was fun. Chloe Sveigny said she auditioned for the role of "A blonde, buxom villain". The forum went nuts.

Yes, these times were my favourites.

Oh, how I miss the days of Spidey hype & when a pic would come out, usually, we'd examine the hell outta it & speculate how that'd tie into the movie before we got more details. I loved that time. :)

yes!one year...i can't believe it! i enjoyed and i still enjoy the forums! one year ago i was nuts... at this time i was in the middle of the download of sm3. good memories, we had a good time! cheers! now i'm watching it

I'm a big fan of the Spider-Man movie franchise, that was why I originally signed up on these boards back in the day. Spider-Man was awesome, Spider-Man 2 superior and I love Spider-Man 3. I remember the hype built up towards SM3, all the speculation and rumors, and crazy theories and ideas. I especially remember the imaginary images that were supposedly seen in the eye piece of the first black suited spider-man picture ever released. I remember going to Spider-Man 3 on opening night, and I was blown away. Okay, SM3 is not as good as the first two, but I still think it's an amazing movie. I still watch time to time, heck, I think I'll watch it later today.

You know, I think im going to watch Spider-man 3 tonight :ikyn

I really enjoyed that movie, =]

I'd watch it today..But I'm heading to the movies today.:o Tomorrow I'll devote the day to watching SM3. I remember having my little Spidey movie marathon. I loved it.

I remember seeing it opening night EXACTLY one year ago...I loved it then and I love it now.

Hell, I watched it yesterday...It really doesn't deserve the crap that fanboys give it. Sure it has it's flaws, but the good FAR outweighs the bad IMO. :spidey:

Ah...S-M3.
Disappointment that soon turned into acceptance [after a further 3 viewings].

The Hype boards were so much fun once we started getting pix from SM3. I remember getting really tired of the "there's something in his eye!" threads, it just got so old. Aunt Carnage is something that everyone knows about around here xD. I also remember some guy claiming to have a picture book that featured pictures of Venom. He ended up spawning a 40-something page thread...and then revealed that he was lying. Man, I really, really miss those times U_U

*goes to watch SM3*

Heh! Now there's one of the old faces I was on about :D

Good to see ya man. You still got the hots for the film?
Good to see you to and yes, I still love the film with all my heart. I miss the days were used to hype about it and stay up until late night for the trailers and things like that. I miss everything we hyped about. :yay:

ZOMG ITS TEH VENIM!!!!!!1!!!!1!!11!one!!!!1

:oldrazz:

Wow hard to believe it has been a year....

I remember when that picture was released and there was so many speculation on what was inside the eye....

The release of the Q&A and no one believing the poor guy....

Filming in Cleveland and getting all those exclusive pictures.....the funny part was that everyone believed I lived in Cleveland because of it.....when in actuality it was a perfectly placed Webcam that a fellow hypester provided me....I think his name was Klown or something....

Filming in NY, so many set reports and getting so many things confirmed for the movie....

Good times....

Ah yes, I remember some folks claimed that Spider-Man's black suit represented the "dark tone" of the movie and the symbiote was not in it at all. Some other high points of the build up to the movie include:

1.) A majority of posters claiming that Green Goblin 2 and the Lizard were, without a shadow of a doubt, the villains.
2.) Chuch cast as our villain, unnamed at the time.
3.) Dunst spilling the beans on 2 and a half villains.
4.) The aforementioned Q & A.
5.) A rather hostile reaction to the description of Harry's costume
6.) Arad blabbing about 4 villains.
7.) Totally out of the left-field heresy that Man-Wolf was villain number 4.

Oh yeah, and I remember the debate where people thought the first picture of the black suited spider-man was a black and white photo and that spideys suit wasn't the black suit.
