OnLive to make PC and console online gaming obsolete, says IGN

If Microsoft bought it they could deliver although then we'd have to pay like 30 dollars a month to play... come on Sony!!! -Wait then we would have to pay 500 initially...

As I said earlier in this tread some time back(or thought I did) if Nintendo were really smart they'd buy this and they solve alot of their problems with the hard core gamers and the won't have a problem with their HD issue as well. and it won't cost as much as the other will price this if they bought it.

woohoo, looks like I'm a candidate for Beta Tester.

Unfortunately, the terms of agreement forbid me from saying anything else about it. Although, if I do get accepted for full beta testing, I'll be able to say so.

Those who applied for the beta, check your emails, bc they staretd out sending info on that

I haven't got anything yet. I'm still a bit curious/skepical, but willing to try it out.

Just saw this on Slashdot about British Telecom and OnLive

"UK telecoms firm BT has signed a deal with cloud-gaming firm OnLive, which gives BT exclusive UK rights to bundle the OnLive Game Service with its broadband packages. Although OnLive will also offer its service directly in the UK, BT (and PlusNet, which is also owned by BT) will be the only ISP allowed to offer the service. UK gamers will need a connection that can cope with the bandwidth demands too, which is a concern when so many UK homes don't have access to fast broadband. Speaking to Thinq, BT's Les King said that we're looking at 1.5Mb/sec for standard definition gaming, and 5Mb/sec for full 1080p HD resolution gaming. This will effectively rule out the use of the HD service in areas of the country that can only get a 2Mb/sec connection. BT plans to start trials of the system in the UK later this year, and plans to launch the service in 2011 or 2012."

wow, looks like I wont be getting HD gaming with this thing

Most people that have DSL can hit about 1.5 as it is, so they should be good to go. HD is just an extra treat.

Yep. That's what I got as well. Well, besides the Terrence part.

guess I'm not in it. They didnt send me one

First I've heard of this.. seems very intriguing..

My gamertag is Fiasco78, for whoever else is signing up. Can't play till the 17th, but just keeping you in the loop.

Today is the day. Everyone that signed up will get to finally see if this thing has the balls to back up its boasts come this evening at 6pm PST.

Got my account activated. I used my free game code on Splinter Cell Conviction. They have 19 games available right now. The game ran very well on my modestly equiped HP laptop. I am a bit impressed. I did notice that the game before I used the code was $59.99 and that was only good for the length of it's license which ran to 2013. Not sure how they think they can make a dent in the market with charging retail. This is basically a soft launch right now, so I will keep an eye on the quality as more users join.

Sho Nuff. I have not used Fraps before, but I will give it a shot.

This will never make the Console business obsolete. I would think if for whatever reason one loses their Internet Connection for whatever reason that would make OnLive useless wouldn't ? Its a good idea but it wont kill Consoles

I went online to take the screencaps and it says my play pass has expired.
Onlive's site is down right now, so they aren't really starting out very strong.
