OOC- Pen and paper RPG's

Hopefully this post isn't out of place here (as was my abortive attempt to post in the gaming section)...

I wanted to know, when people are playing table top P&P games, what are you playing?

What's really good?

What's really bad?

Has anyone played any of the New World of Darkness/White Wolf lines?

I've played/am already familiar with D&D (who isn't), the Old White Wolf game lines, and GODLIKE.

Looking for some feedback!

Thanks in advance!

I mainly stuck with the Forgotten Realms setting of D&D, though I did enjoy the gothic horror of Ravenloft as well.

Played the SW RPG for a bit, but that didn't hold as well as the Realms with the rest of the group.

I mostly use my own setting for D&D, though I've played some games on Krynn and Toril.

Pen and Paper RPGs?!? I laugh at the thought!!!

Yeah, perish the thought of playing a game while being in the same room with other people.

Anyway, most of the time when I get a D&D game going, it's a DM-created world, but my group and I draw most of our stuff from Forgotten Realms. Ravenloft was always hard to get into simply because it was too horror-based, and horror doesn't really translate when half of your group has ADD. I am kinda interested in seeing what the inevitable conversion for Dragonlance will look like, though.

Outside of D&D, the most fun game I've played is Deadlands. It's kinda obscure and I'm pretty sure it's out of production now (or at least got converted to yet another d20 system), but the different gameplay mechanics and the weird-west/steampunk/Lovecraft-horror setting was just all kinds of cool. If you can find a copy of the rulebooks (or just get it off of Limewire), I highly recommend it.

I do pretty much just D&D, usually with DM created worlds. I've also played the Star Wars RPG, which was kind of cool, even though we never finished the campaign. Mostly because the party, which included a bounty hunter, a narrow minded murder friendly droid, and a sociopathic madclaw wookie (my guy), had become pretty damn corrupt.

I've played:
D&D 3&3.5
DC Heroes (Mayfair Games, 1980s, still have the Atlas of the DCU that came out for that game...)
DC Universe Roleplaying Game (West End Games, 1990s, I wish I still had the books for that one :()
D20 Modern

Currently Playing:
D&D 4E

You know it's bad when you can actually smell him over the internet.
