Hello Batman Forum posters.

I have come to notice something as of late. You guys seem to think it is okay to talk down to or insult people with differing opinions from the majority. Thats gotta end. Mmk? I've probated three people for it today and that will continue until you learn how to play nice with one another.

Believe it or not, people are allowed to not think that Bale is the second coming or that Nolan's vision is not perfect. You are allowed to disagree with them. You are allowed to debate with them. You are not allowed to insult them, flame them, or troll their threads. That includes posting those stupid "Wrong" or "****" pictures. I don't care if you so much as call the person an idiot. From this point on, if you cannot respect the opinions of other posters, you will be punished.

If you have any questions on this policy, feel free to ask in here.

the other thing that bugs me is a lot of people will start to hate on you just because of one stupid debate . . . I disagree with some people on here sometimes, but I'm not going to let that make me disagree with them on every thread they go to

I do have some questions since this debate did open up. Now I'm not the type to ever start fights but I do love to be civil and discuss.

I do agree people need to respect other people's opinions. But Matt as I see it that coin does flip both ways does it not?

Now you said we can discuss this in here with you and I just have a few questions I guess about this. Please do not take anything as attacks, I'm just really confused about a lot of things being said today.

To me I agree some people can be just mean to others with a different opinion. At times when I'm angry I have been guilty of this same charge no lies. Yet today I felt afraid to even post a civil response as I 99% of the time do to any of my *friends on here* in fear that you would ban me for disagreeing with some one that does not care of TDK.

You have been I've seen on some of these thread bashing fanboyism. Acting as if some of us are some kind of plague? I admit I'm a comic nut, and I think 99% of the people that come on SHH are fanboys of one of the comics. Maybe I'm wrong but I figured that was what coming to SHH is about getting to talk about things we are fans of which in this case is comic related films. Or the comics in themselves. Yet you seem to roll your eyes at some Bat fans because they are passionate about it.

Now I'm even afraid to post a different opinion, and defending TDK because you seem to make it seem like it is a bad thing. And maybe I'm wrong and I hope I am I just don't get how being a fan of something is now not the cool thing to do, and we will ban any passionate comic fans, which what are the core and bread and butter of this site.

Now I agree with you 100% there should not be shamless bashing. But some people that do start some of these threads are long time known ...well troll is not the word but they like to stir up the bee hive I guess would be a way to put it. With nothing more then the want to do so. And sometimes I think some of the posters get defensive on this and attack *unrationally* at times I agree but still I can see some of these people's points for being angry at some people that just want to rip on something.

Opinions I'm fine with but some people I think try to use the opinion plea so they can continue to shake up the hornets nest and just do it for the reason to anger people. Which I thought this was haven for civil talk.

Now I hope you don't ban me because I just am really confused on the realms of this post. I now fear to post on here because I may really like TDK and where its going, and if I disagree and point out my opinions I will be banned for doing so?

I mean me and StorminNorman always have civil converstations I respect him but I disagree with some of his points but we still respect each other.

So I guess I'm asking for more of what this means. I just I guess today felt that respect these opinions was pretty much saying, accept them, you can't complain. I may be wrong, but thats just the vibe I got, I know you don't care a lot for TDK, but I think its unfair and I feel like as a fan of Nolan and Batman comics I can no longer speak here because I don't share your views?

Yet again I hope I am not banned for asking these civil questions on to what is going on. I respect what your doing because it is the right thing, but I guess I feel a different vibe going on here. So I guess I just want more understanding.

Haha my comments in the non-fan reaction are more board satire than anything else. And shouldn't be taken too seriously. I've been on these boards for nearly 8 years and any time there is a big movie trailer we get a "non-fan reaction" thread and they are in general lies or gross exaggerations. Thats all I was doing there.

I yelled at a few people the other day for bashing Heath Ledger in the Heath Ledger thread. So yes, it does work on the reverse. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, be it for or against a movie.

All I am asking is to avoid name calling, pictures telling people they are wrong or to shut up, that kind stuff.

The big deal is that there is a vast majority here who gangs up on anyone who says the slightest thing that can be construed as negative. If a poster says something like "A hair was out of place on Bale's head" he will be attacked by 50 posters. This board is one step away from becoming the Superman Boards circa 2005.

Here is a crazy idea. Ignore it. These boards move faster than any other on the Hype. If you all just ignore threads you don't like, they will disappear to the second page and then the third and then the fourth until it is all but forgotten. Chances are if someone actually posted that, all they would want is attention anyway and giving it to them hardly solves the problem. If he continues to spam with it, we will pick up on it and deal with.

The problem is we got a lot of very nimrodish posters here, lots of good posters here as well, but i digress....The thing is this has become Nolan worship central rather than the Batboards and we have a lot of posters who think Nolan invented Batman and actually know very little of the character and even less about cinema, and yet they think Batman is "Kewl" b/c of BB and they run in little packs attacking everyone who has a negative view on the movie.

Now as for your question Jow, if they are trolling report them, if they are just not very bright, ignore them.

Yea I see the mod's points. But I just hope we all remember the coin does flip both ways. I see a lot of "Burton"ite's as well some I think we all know. But I think there are some that claim certian comics.

But I do understand that there has been some harshness to some posters on here.

Though I understand it for becoming a Nolan central area, because frankly thats who is making The Dark Knight which is the main topic of this entire board section. So I guess we can't completely say this is wrong, because thats what these boards become for the most part.

But I do agree being uncivil *which I admit I have done in the past and try not to do it at all any more* is not the right way to handle things.
