I was talking with a friend of mine and we were discussing how the Avengers movie will have to be accessible to everyone regardless of which films they've seen. So we started talking about how Pym could be the gateway character, but then we started talking more and we started to think how great Hawkeye would be as a gateway character mainly because he's younger (I think?) and he's the least powerful. They wouldn't even need him to have a big name actor or his own film. Just kinda use him to introduce the world of SHIELD and the Avengers. My only concern would be them going with the SHIELD agent angle from the Ultimates. I think it would be good if he was called in by SHIELD as kinda a reserve member they've been keeping their eye on.

I don't know just something I was playing with. I would hate to pull an X3 and have too many characters (We already have Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, and Nick Fury on the team) but it just seems like a good idea.

I'd like to see the founders in the first movie, and second stringers like Hawkeye, Magneto's kids, etc. in a sequel.

Yeah... you already need to give Ant Man a crap load of screen time... no room for Hawkeye or even Black Widow... cameos are fine... but are the same actors going to return for the sequels? Probably not. Hence introduce them later. I'd like to introduce Hawkeye and Widow in a SHIELD movie with Sam Jackson before I put those guys in Avengers anyways.

I'm actually hoping they lean slightly Ultimate for Hawkeye/Widow- I like the concept of them being the top SHIELD agents and hope it is used in the film.

Wow am I the only one that doesn't like the SHIELD agent angle for Hawkeye? HE's so brutal there and the 616 version is such a gentle and kind person. I always thought he was suppose to be a modern Robin Hood not a brutal agent.

Black Widow needs to be in it...i'm fine if they don't include Hawkeye in the first film...but I really wanna see Black Widow!

Hawkeye could be in his own film, a smaller-budget action film.. get somebody like Josh Duhamel...

IF he could pull off blonde hair he'd look good.

I'd like to see Ultimate Hawkeye in Avengers 2, actually.

JackBaur, you have one of the coolest avatars ever...but where's Furnace and the Lizard League?

thanks :D

I was thinking of doing a 2.0 version with all of them, if I can fit it in a small enough file. So there'll definitely be a place for Furnace and the Lizard League.

Here's how it should go down

First movie: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, Ant-man/Giant man (Pym) vs. the Hulk

Second movie: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver vs. Ultron

Third movie: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Ant-man (not Pym), Hulk vs. Invading aliens (possibly Skrulls).

-Use slightly Ultimate slanted plots but 616 characterization and history.
-Keep Fury/Shield from having too much influence.
-If neccesary use SW and Q in third movie.
-Give the movies a serious tone. Please, no stupid "comic" humor (I'm looking at you Spider-man 3)

I sure wouldn't bet against seeing Hawkeye in the first movie.

Here's how I see it as a trilogy:

1. IM, Cap, Thor, Ant Man, Wasp, SHIELD vs Hulk, Zemo, HYDRA (2011)

2. Hawkeye, Ant Man/Giant Man, SW, QS, Black Widow, Black Panther, Wasp vs The Vision/Ultron (2014)

3. Hawkeye, The Vision, SW, QS, Ms. Marvel, Falcon, Wonderman vs Kang (2017)

That's the realistic way to do it since no way the current cast is doing a trilogy.

Iron Man will probably only be in Avengers I, and RDJ might retire his Tony Stark character unless they do IM3. However, both Thor and Cap might stick around for Avengers 2 & 3 unless Marvel wants them to have their own trilogy. If Thor & Cap stay, it'll be easier to introduce other new Avengers for the sequels.

That's all well and good... it just depends on the story they are going to use. I personally don't like Cap in an Ultron movie. Thor could be a keeper but if his solo movie does well I'd like to see a sequel there. If it doesn't then sure keep him in Avengers. Doesn't matter to me. Cap could work in an Avengers sequel about the Thunderbolts or something along those lines. I personally think they can tell Cap's story in two movies though. A franchise would be pushing it. Use the character very selectively... sort of like a once in a life time thing. I just think Cap/Thor could thrive better in their own movies rather than being used as a linchpin for smaller Marvel characters in Avengers sequels. Hawkeye, Ant-Man, SW, QS is a good nucleus to build off of IMO.

I don't know too much about the character at the moment, but I can say that I am definitely more interested in the original founders. Maybe in a sequel. Maybe.
