anyone remember the ORIGINAL teaser for returns? I'm not talking about the "from the sewers of gotham" one. This one was shorter and better and came out around xmas 1991/early 1992. I was dissapointed when it wasn't on the dvd.

nah, too young.

But i do remember the BF one. It had B89 music. That trailer made BF look very cool. Shame about the finished product.

All the Schumacher films used the Elfman theme, even Batman and Robin. I remember in 1996 at San Diego con I went to the preview for B&R and the early promo footage featured teh Forever car driving around a Gotham lot, but it was shot more like the first film and had Elfman music. It actually got people pumped, then they unveiled the concept art of Freeze looking like a chrome Bionicle figure and the snow bunnies and hockey thungs and there was complete silence. During Q&A I got to ask a question so I asked if Elfman would come back and they said yes! The crowd actually cheered, one guy yelled thank-god! And then the panel talked with one another and corrected themselves saying no he would not be back but he would be doing the score for Space Jam and that panel will be on after ours. That guy who yelled than go walked out pissed.

Depressing summer.

But James Newton Howard scored Space Jam!

ha ha! never saw the movie actually, now thats funny, just goes to show you that those comic con panels aren't always a reliable source of info :oldrazz:

what the hell if there was an original teaser for Returns I need to see it!!

where is SHADOWBAT69 when we need him, he would know about this!

Wasnt it just the scene of Batman and Catwoman's first fight, intertwined with Bruce and Selina talking at Shrek's party?

I vaguely remember the teaser, but it did seem better than the one included on the SE from what I remember. Actually, if i recall correctly, i think the teaser ends with a shot of the Batman logo covered in snow which was really effective.

I remember the first television commercial catching me completely off guard. I was a huge Batman fan, then B'89 solidified me as a child obsessed with a hero ... and I watched the movie over and over again. Then 1992 rolls around, and I'm 7 years old ... and I'm putzing around by the TV, when all of a sudden this commercial for a new Batman movie hits, and at first I couldn't even believe my eyes. Before the advent of the web, and superhero movie tracking web sites, and before I even used to read Cinescape for up-coming movie news ... this commercial hit me like a ton of bricks. I remember my jaw almost being on the floor. I vividly remember the quick shot of Batman spreading his wings, and the short dialogue with the up-close camera angle of Batman saying "Things Change." ... I was hooked.

BTW, the trailer on the DVD has the ending with the snow covered bat symbol. Originally I didn't think it had that, b/c I thought that was just included on the television ads.

I'm surprised YouTube doesn't have it.

Yeah, I remember that because in the movie Batman's "I'm sorry" was redubbed!......

Unlikely, because it was 1992 and it has not been any commercial format(dvd, laserdisc, video). Believe me, I've looked! The ending was the best bit. As the climax of elfmans "decsent into mystery" theme plays, the actors names appear on the screen. Keatons name appears and it cuts to the clip of him saying "what do you want". Devitos name appears and it cuts to the clip were he says "you don't think you will win do you?". Pheiffers name appears and it cuts to the clip where she says "hear me roar". Then I think the logo comes up. I first saw it alongside the release of waynes world in england. It was also shown on a movie show called Cinema Cinema Cinema on late night tv. i had a copy of the show on video but its long gone. Man, it was cool.

That is IT!!!!!! That is IT!!!!!!!!!

I f****ing love you man .
Great to see!

Is it me, or is some of the footage a bit different?

The exchange between Bruce and Selina at the Ball must be from a different take, it's not the same as in the actual film.

That was a damn good trailer. Makes me want to watch BR again.

I still find it weird that the movie takes place during Christmas/Winter and it came out on June 19th... man that was a hot day in Santee....

You have no idea how many memories this brought back, props.

I remember seeing that once on Youtube, but it was labelled "UK Trailer," and I never was able to find it since (taken down perhaps?).

There is also a home video trailer on that page.

Does anyone remember the "Western" hotel chain tie in commerial for BR?
It had a bat shaped suitcase flying through gotham and landing in a hotel room via window?

I haven't seen that in along time.

Nice to see I'm finally getting a few props here. People are usually calling me names like liar and **** like that:woot:

the uk trailer has the actors names fading over their close-ups in white writing and in the same font as the Batman Returns title.

I have it here, must upload it.

i like seeing some of those alternate takes in that trailer.
