For me definitely Rogue, I feel like they never showed her true potential in the movies and since she and Logan had a good friendship in the movies would be awesome to have her in this movie and finally with flight and super strength.

Wow... there's so many! Beast, Nightcrawler, Rogue, Magneto, and Cyclops are my many choices.

Just Beast. Hoult's arc has got to be the slowest in all the movies combined.

To propose a different kind of Rogue should require a different actress in the role.

I wouldn't mind seeing rogue since they both were the intro characters 16 years ago I think it would be nice to see them back together. Wouldn't mind seeing Scott either

Rogue, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Shadowcat, Colossus, Beast, Nightcrawler and Storm! :ilv:

EDIT: for the film, definitely the one and only Rogue! The rest would be a big plus!

I'd like to see Wolverine. We never got enough from that guy. :awesome:

I think wolverine may make a cameo in wolverine 3, i might be wrong though ;p

Rogue. We've seen all the X-Men in DOFP already, but Rogue was the one that never got proper closure.

And those powers could be so useful in the franchise. She should've been the "Reaper" from Age of X in DOFP. Makes no sense, no sense.

Rogue is both under-used in general and a good pairing with Wolverine considering their past interactions. She would also fit great in Gambit (if it ever comes to be) and I would cinsider it a massive waste not to put her in either.

Probably a moot point now as the film is very much underway. Stewart's Professor X is a very solid choice. Honestly I think Marsden's Cyclops would have made for a great buddy-cop dynamic. The two bickering in X1 was a lot of fun, and it could have been interesting to see how they bounce off eachother without a love triangle.

They are shooting in New Orleans so it makes me think they are going to put Gambit in it. I hope they do, if only to fix the crap they did wrong in Wolverine: Origins.

Rogue or Storm. I'd like to see Mangold take on the X-Men franchise in general and see what he could do with an ensemble piece. I am sure if there were any OT players returning then we would have heard about it.

It would be oddly poetic to include a Gambit appearance in this. Smart way to introduce the character too. I bet seeing it done right would be really satisfying.

a couple of familiar faces would be a nice surprise !

Stewart + ???

Paquin! or that Jean Grey actress again that is Famke Jannsen :ilv:

I am almost certain famke won't be in the next wolverine movie, i think the DOFP ending pretty much concluded that story and adding her to the movie will just put that can of worms back as a plot point again.

Rogue maybe possibly as a cameo but personally i do not see this being all star wolverine as many are hoping for so i wouldn't be surprised one bit if it was just stewart.

This would have been great. I feel they never made full use of the odd couple chemistry between Scott and Logan.

Yeah it would have been great its too bad though, Singer and company has this fascination with telling X-Men stories set in the past, we would no longer see that and look what happened now.... Apocalypse didn't even outgross X-Men 1 in North America. Totally wrong direction for this film series.

potential comes in many forms but rarely does it ever translate to screen how you think it will.

Any of them would be great to see! :ilv:

I don't think it was the wrong direction so much as it was the wrong way to tell it. Apocalypse is a result of changing time in DOFP (Beast says time has a way of correcting itself somehow), it's actually a great way to follow-up on DOFP. The problem was the consequences of the time travel weren't very clear in Apocalypse and, as a lot of critics say, the writing didn't carry the film through well. Personally, I feel it would have been a good idea to move on to a Genosha film for the 80s cast and leave Apocalypse for an original cast film.

Also, your comment on X1 goes to show to Fox that the movie doesn't have to focus on one particular character or actor, no matter how popular they've gotten. He/she can still play a more subtle role for the team to create a good ensemble movie (take X2 for example). Also, I feel JLaw's challenge here should've been pulling off a more comic and cartoon-accurate villain. What they did didn't really help her versatility out and it sort of hurt the franchise.

I want Original cast character in a movie in present not in the future

If that's why you think X-Men: Apocalypse underperformed in domestic you really need to widen your view.

Of course there are other factors, but that is one of them. Its not a coincidence that the two lowest-grossing out of the six X-Men team films in North America didn't feature the OT cast. And even before, Apocalypse got bad reviews, the hype for it was already smaller than the hype for OT-cast led films such as X2/X3/DOFP. The faces that people see in the trailers are important.
