Ever thought about when you hear a great song, then someone comes along and remakes it or vice-versa?

Bobby Brown or Britney Spears?

Is this a game? If so, sounds fun, but maybe somebody should move it to the Diner.

For the choice above, Bobby Brown all the way. It's a good song and I hate Britney Spears.

"Raining Blood" - Slayer or Tori Amos?

I Want To Hold Your Hand: The Beatles or Lakeside?

My thinking is that whatever version of a song you hear first becomes your favorite:

I like Berlin's Take My Breath Away but hate Jessica Simpson's version.

I like Talk Talk's It's My Life but hate No Doubt's version.

You know, I like some songs that are remakes, like Ugly Kid Joe's version of Cat's In the Cradle. Also Within Temptation did a kickass version of Kate Bush's song Running Up That Hill a few years back.

that lakeside version takes a fun jumpy song and makes it boring as hell.

Redbone or Real McCoy?

Joe Cocker's version of "With a Little Help..." trumps the original version by the Beatles:

The one instance where the Cover beats the Original has to be Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inch Nails "Hurt". Amazing cover.

Here's a remake of Roxette's "The Look" done by Candlelight Red.

I tend to be biased in favor of whichever version of a song I hear first, whether it's the original or a cover.

Celldweller's cover of the Bee Gee's "Tragedy" is one of the best covers I've heard, check it out.
