Our "Space Princess": David Corenswet IS Clark Kent/Superman!

The "... yikes" takes are always the most yikes
I found her performance a little wooden and his a little over the top. The hand gestures didn't help. Sorry.

Haha. No need for a sorry. Portman seemed to be playing off Corenswet here, idk about wooden, but just more reserved given the apparent context. That lil finger wag was funny for a sec and the yell caught me off guard, but he played anger like three different ways in <60s and they worked imo. The physicality and presence make it all the more believable as well.

This is arguably the best show David's been on since We Own This City. Incidentally, David's character is implied to be the biological father of Natalie Portman's character's son, played by Noah Jupe. Not to mention that the kid looks like a mini Clark Kent, specifically David's version.

Is that the only scene to be released so far?
David's role in the show is actually quite small. That said, there's another clip that was released, featuring him in a high school flashback scene. The one we see here is set in the present-day 1960s, where his character has since grown up to become a husband and father of two young children (possibly three if my hunch about him fathering Portman's character's son pans out}.

I’m sure he will be great. However I wasn’t that impressed with what I saw of him in twisters. Yes a pretty unspectacular part. Besides his height . He was pretty bland and uninteresting to watch

Yeah he was given a paper thin role which was a shame. The last thing i saw him in was pearl and he was pretty good in that for the short screen time he had.

If anything all I hope is that he is a great Superman and if that's just the role he is born for then I don't mind. Arnie has proven he can be in duds but still make the movie fun to watch because of his charisma, David can be in duds but he has to be great as Supes.

I haven’t seen Twisters yet so I can’t comment but the four things I have seen him in (Hollywood, The Politician, Pearl and We Own This City) he varied between good to great. Hollywood was his biggest role and he was arguably the best part of the show, though Jeremy Pope was also fantastic (the show itself had issues and was problematic for some stuff but I still liked it). And it gave him a chance to show off that Clark Kent charm. His role in The Politician was small but very memorable, and (weirdly) he gave off some Superman energy there. He was good in Pearl but that movie was pretty much Mia Goth’s show (as it should have been). And he was very good in We Own This City… not as dynamic or central as Jon Bernthal or Wunmi Mosaku and some of the other actors but he was very believable and one of the few people in the series that you could root for.

So from seeing enough of his work, I can say with certainty that he’s a good actor who has some leading man charisma. And it sounds like both he and Gunn really “get” Superman, so I think we’re in for a truly special performance… like the best since Reeve. Apologies to Hoechlin stans… he plays the role well but the material he has to work with just doesn’t do it for me and he looks too much like Patrick Fischler for me to ever really see him as Superman.

Yea I’m not concerned . He was good in Pearl . And it seems a good actor. Which is a good start! I’m a big Chris Reeve as Superman / Clark Kent fan. Don’t think any actor has come close to his performance as both ! I like Cavell but don’t think he’s a very good actor. And was pretty forgettable if I’m honest. He’s getting better as he gets older though I think.

Watched Twisters, David was fine enough in his pretty one dimensional character role. Wasn't much room for him to play especially if you compare it to his character in Hollywood.

It certainly seems he is still pretty unknown, my gf only recognised him because of me talking about him and the folks on Reddit barely spoke of him (neither negative or positive) which I think will be good for the general audience as he will be seen as a new guy and not "that actor that is always this certain character"

Finally saw Twisters last night. Really fun movie and a worthy legacy sequel even if it barely has any connections to the original. I feel like Maura Tierney’s character was originally written for Helen Hunt but then after the studio gave Helen’s idea for a sequel the shaft, she wasn’t interested and they changed the script. That aside, it was fun and David played a good jerk in a fairly small role. And just judging by the above video of his Twisters cast mates, the obvious camaraderie with his Superman cast mates, and the way Gunn talks about him, David really seems like a great guy all around. Given how rumors persisted about our last big screen Superman being kind of arrogant (which, to be clear, I don’t know if they were true) I’m glad that our new Superman seems to be beloved by everyone he works with.

Is it a legacy sequel if it doesn't have any of the original cast? I just thought that's what that meant.
