It's totally a thing.

Never played the first one but I might some day for the experience. I saw someone do an LP of it and it looked neat. I do prefer the Silent Hill style games for my horror kicks though. :p

Bring it on. But hopefully it's got a better ending than part 1.

I did actually! I liked the ending more, even if the meat of it wasn't as good as the main game.

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more traction around here. Outlast is superb and the preview demo of the the second game was damn good. I'm looking forward to it being at E3.

I'm hoping we get a release date, this and Cyanide's Call of Cthulhu are my most anticipated titles.

First one was one of the best horror games ever. Not my cup of tea though. Not really into hide and seek games, but do think it was amazing.

The developer must have some form of [blackout]penis envy cause of all the suffering the crotch receives in these games[/blackout].

Demo available now for a limited time on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Just finished downloading it. You won't find it on the PSN store. (At least, I couldn't.) Use the PSN browser on your computer or whatever to download it remotely.

Very excited to play this tonight. I've been hearing nothing but great things!

Comes out tomorrow but watching people stream early. Jesus **** this thing is creepy.

I've seen a few early streams, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. They made it more video gamey which is an issue the first game had that they addressed with the Whistle-blower DLC, but it feels like they took a few steps back in that regard.

I'm about three hours in and I am really enjoying it thus far. Adding in health management this go round does make certain situations more tense. The game takes a few cues from Alien Isolation in that it does not strictly adhere to its internal rules. In the original Outlast, you were always the fastest character in the game and hiding generally kept you safe in most situations. In Outlast 2 that is not always the case. Being able to use the mic on the camera to listen for enemy chatter is neat as well.

The heretics are downright terrifying.

"It will be a distinct experience," developer teases.

Outlast and Outlast II are coming to Switch in the first quarter of 2018, developer Red Barrels announced. A new title set in the Outlast universe is also in development.

“Currently we’re working on something a lot of you have been asking for… It won’t be a sequel to Outlast or Outlast II, but it will be a distinct experience set in the Outlast universe,” Red Barrels said in an update. “We can’t say more right now, we first need to make sure we can make it work. Like I mentioned, we strive to be risk-takers and this one is a pretty big challenge. If all goes well, we’ll soon be able to reveal more.”

Regarding an Outlast 3, the studio said, “We will, at some point, make an Outlast 3 and answers will be given. You can also check out The Murkoff Account’s epilogue. It takes places right after the events of the second game and offers some insight into the events in the game.”

Outlast and Outlast II are currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
