Outrage over Arizona restaurant offering lionburgers

Yea I don't see the problem. Especially if they are farming them. No more worries of say species endangerment.

Probably not as tasty though; carnivore.

I bet they're GRRRRRREAT!!!. . . uh. . . sorry. . . wrong animal. . . . .

It's the Circle of Life American style.

I don't see the outrage. Isn't that the law of the jungle? Eat or be eaten?

Great. Why don't we just kill every form of wildlife and have a ****ing potluck?

We truly are all connected, in the great circle of life.

A lion would eat me without second thought so back at ya buddy!

I probably wouldn't eat this but I would try a nibble. Could be the best tasting thing on this planet. It is probably really expensive anyways. I really don't see the difference between this and cows. Both are mammals. The only difference is one is a carnivore and the other a herbivore. As someone said above, if they are being farmed then there really is no problem.

I wonder if the Lionburger eats other burgers. :hehe:

Why would you want to eat cat meat? And it ain't gonna be like, top quality cat meat. A healthy Lion won't get turned into a burger! It'll be some diseased Lion!

I wonder if this is their

:word:

mane entre.

Why don't we eat pandas as well?

I mean as long as their farmed it should be cool, right?

You shouldn't eat animals that are majestic. That includes lions, dolphins, tigers, whales, and bears.

They should be off limits like dogs and cats.

The chinese get ridiculed for eating dogs but Americans think eating cats is awesome.

Lions aren't as endangered as pandas, however, this isn't unusual. People eat all kinds of animals, and there're always going to be people who are disgusted by it due to the social norms of a locality. As I've been saying for a while, meat is meat is meat. The only issue here is that lions are a protected species and people who are concerned about conservation would argue that a protected species shouldn't be farmed for food purposes.

Frankly, I'm still surprised that through all this, lion meat isn't illegal to sell, but horse meat is in many places.

Lions are despicable animals in reality. "Majesty" is in the perceived (and it's a decidedly Western perception) mythology of animals, where the species aren't judged on anything more than what they look like and what they're thought to be like.

Putting dogs and cats on an "off-limits" list is silly also.

Who defines what animals are majestic:huh:

Superferret... why are Lions despicable? They just do what is their nature... like every animal.

They're nowhere near as "noble" as people think. They tend to be dirty, the males are generally lazy and cowardly, and they frequently kill young lion cubs. The females are fairly impressive, but there's nothing "majestic" about them.

Cattle are far more majestic than a lion.
