Pak and Manco Do War Machine Ongoing

Taking the place of Iron Man: Director of SHIELD (sad to see it go), Pak will be writing a War Machine series with Leo Manco handling the art. I'm drooling already.

I hadn't thought that Fury coming back and potentially re-taking SHIELD could've affected this decision. I suppose the book could've still continued on without the SHIELD subtitle. I think it's more along the lines of this Iron Man book not doing so hot as compared to Fraction's book. Like I said before, I'm sad to see this one go. The Knaufs/Moore and De La Torre were a heck of a creative team, but I can understand the decision. Still, I certainly don't mind a War Machine book, especially when it's being done by Pak and Manco.

You know what gets me about Iron Man DoS? It's 31 issues in and I can't buy a vol.1 or 2 HC of the series ANYWHERE. And it's not on Marvel's website as far as I can tell either. The only thing that I've seen is the vol 1 tpb.

I can't wait. I figured DoS would get canceled, but it doesn't bother me since the Knaufs made it great and they've already moved on. Plus, it was covering a lot of the same ground as Invincible Iron Man (and doing it better, in my opinion, but we all know Marvel's not gonna cancel the just-launched Iron Man series with the big-name creator in favor of the little IM series that could). I'm looking forward to Gage's Rhodey arc already, but the fact that it's going to become an ongoing afterward under Pak and Manco (!) is even better.

I hope that promo pic isn't just Manco messing around because, honestly, I'd love it if Rhodey's armor were changed to look more like the movie armor with more guns. The armor in that pic looks awesome.

Intriguing. I hope finally someone notices Rhodey's appearances in The Crew.

Maybe one or some of the Crew will be in the supporting cast. Imagine Rhodey partnering up with Josiah X a la Cap and the Falcon. That would rock.
