Paramount Buys Ian Shorr Sci-Fi Spec ‘Infinite’

It's the post pandemic way. Most studios now will never promote a movie 6 months out like the old days.

''You want to see this movie? Fine, it's out next week on Netflix. We've got plenty of garbage coming your way!''

That may be, but even by streaming standards it's stretching it quite a bit.

This is weird. I just started reading The Reincarnationist Papers, the book this film is based on a few hours ago.

Nothing that wasn't done better before. It's bland and forgettable.
If you can watch as part as your streaming service fine but it surely not worth the price of a theater ticket.

Streaming generally seems to be acting as a sort of revival for the bad direct-to-video sci fi movie.

I thought it's Antoine Fuqua so it can't be all that bad!

It was astonishingly boring and full of useless mumbo jumbo.

It's not only a dud for Wahlberg but, Dylan O'Brien as well.

Yeah this movie was pretty generic and bland. One thing I was wondering…

If Bathurst just wanted to stop being reincarnated over and over again, why couldn’t he just shoot himself with that special bullet that pulls out his consciousness and instruct his people not to put him back together again? That basically ends the process right?

I found this painful to sit through honestly and actually dosed off a few times during it which is something that doesn't happen often when I watch movies, especially action films.

There were some decent action set pieces here and there, but it was very dull and generic for the most part and as much as I like Wahlberg he was really miscast in this IMO.

Sad to see someone as talented as Fuqua behind this sort of misfire when I know he can do so much better than this, but plenty of directors have dropped the ball from time to time.

This had no business being in a theatre either which is why I'm not surprised it got dumped on a streaming service, but for some reason I still felt like I was ripped off after watching it.

Good Question.
