Paramount is developing a sequel to the John Singleton-directed Four Brothers, to be titled Five Brothers.

Mark Wahlberg is looking to star and hatched the sequel idea with original writers David Elliot and Paul Lovett, who are writing the script. Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is back to produce.

In the 2005 release, the Mercer brothers - hotheaded Bobby (Wahlberg), hard-edged Angel (Tyrese Gibson), family man and businessman Jeremiah (André Benjamin), and hard rocking Jack (Garrett Hedlund) - reunite to take the matter of their adoptive mother's death into their own hands. As they track down the killer, they quickly realize that their old ways of doing business have new consequences.

Plot details for the follow-up are being kept under wraps.

Random....I enjoyed Four Brothers with it's 80's throwback goodness, but a sequel is pushing it.

[BLACKOUT]Especially since one of the brothers died. Would the sequel be Three Brothers?[/BLACKOUT]

It'd be interesting to see exactly what they'd do in a sequel, but I do agree that it should probably just stay a stand-alone film.

Yeah I dont see this as a film that needed a sequel, the first one was good. Leave it at that really

I liked the movie aswell, but this is random for a sequel. And not really needed. but i guess if Twister 2 4D does, then I guess this does also.

Hunter wrote exact what I would have wrote so I have nothing to say.

Four Brothers is one of those films that I always get sucked into when it's on. i'm down witha sequel, little strange it's currently called 5 brothers. But hey, they were Foster kids.

Well I could see something where Mark's character is taking in family the way his mother looked after them and then the new foster kid/kids have to deal with drug dealers in the neighborhood , then **** goes down.

god, this movie was awful.
You crazy

Chiwetel Ejifor is one of my favorite actors, totally underrated, and I think he did a kick ass performance in that movie.

every line in this movie was either about them being brothers, living in detroit, or dead mom. the bad guy was a joke. and so many scenes were just laughably bad.
