Wow.

I cannot believe how many kids some of these athletes have. Antonio Cromartie has 7 at age 25 for instance. Reading that article is what made me make this thread.

Is there something in the steroids making these guys uber fertile? While they're out hitting homeruns and scoring TD's, their little men are sliding into home like it's nobody's business.

Here are some names from a site listing some of the athletes who only have 1 or 2 illegitimate kids:

•Mark Messier (NHL Hall of Famer)
•Brian Urlacher (NFL)
•Stephon Marbury (NBA)
•Jason Kidd (NBA)
•Allen Iverson (NBA)
•Latrell Sprewell (NBA)
•Juwan Howard (NBA)
•Scottie Pippen (NBA)
•Hakeem Olajuwon (NBA)
•Patrick Ewing (NBA)
•Randy Johnson (MLB)
•Matt Leinart (NFL)
•Tom Brady (NFL)
•Darren McFadden (NFL rookie)
•Dwight Howard (NBA)
•Warren Sapp (NFL)
•Larry Fitzgerald (NFL)
•Lance Briggs (NFL)
•Tracy McGrady (NBA)
•Chipper Jones (MLB)
•Boris Becker (Tennis)
•Steve Garvey (MLB) – 2 illegitimate kids by 2 women
•Julius Erving/Dr. J (NBA) – 2 illegitimate kids by 2 women

I had no idea some of these guys even had kids.

Now this list is of athletes with 3 to 5 illegitimate kids:

Santonio Holmes - 3 kids by 2 women; before graduating college
•Larry Johnson (NBA) – 5 kids by 4 women; 3 are illegitimate
•Charles Rogers (NBA)- Reportedly has 5 illegitimate kids
•Greg Minor (NBA) – 3 illegitimate kids
•Ricky Williams (NFL) – 3 illegitimate kids
•Priest Holmes (NFL) – 3 illegitimate kids
•Karl Malone (NBA) – 3 illegitimate kids – all born while he was in college; 2 of the 3 are now professional athletes
•Pete Rose (MLB) – 5 children; 1 is illegitimate
•Tug McGraw (MLB) – 3 children; 1 is illegitimate (and happens to be country singer Tim McGraw)
•Oscar de la Hoya (Boxing) – 5 kids by 4 women; 3 are illegitimate
•Elijah Dukes (MLB) – 5 illegitimate kids by 4 women (possibly 6 kids by 5 women now – the most recent one hasn’t been publicly confirmed)
•Willis McGahee (NFL) – 3 illegitimate kids in 2 years
•Michael Vick (NFL/current federal inmate) – 3 illegitimate children
Vladamir Guerrero - 4 kids, 4 different women

and that's not all!
the following have 6+ kids

•Ray Lewis (NFL) – Rumored to have 6 children by 4 women
•Marshall Faulk (NFL) – Also rumored to have 6 children, but by 3 women
•Darryl Strawberry (MLB) – 6 children; 1 is illegitimate
Kenny Anderson (NBA) - 7 children from 5 different mothers (3 girlfriends and 2 wives
•Antonio Cromartie (NFL) – 7 illegitimate kids by 6 women by age 25
•Shawn Kemp (NBA) – 7 illegitimate kids by 6 women (some rumors put these numbers MUCH higher)
•Derrick Thomas (NFL) – 7 illegitimate kids by 5 women at the time of his death at age 33
•Jason Caffey (NBA) – 8 illegitimate children by 7 women
•Travis Henry (NFL) – 9 kids by 9 women by age 28
•Willie Anderson (NBA) – 9 illegitimate kids
•Evander Holyfield (Boxing) – 9 illegitimate kids, 11 total
•Calvin Murphy (NBA) – 14 illegitimate kids by 9 women

no wonder the athletes want such huge salaries, they have child support to pay out the wazoo!

:rimshot:

I've also heard rumors of:

* Cromartie having 8 kids now
* Shawn Kemp's number actually being much higher
* Scott Skiles reportedly has at least 6 illegitimate kids, and possibly 8.
* Karl Malone, who unbelievably got a 13-year-old girl pregnant when he was a sophomore at Lousiana Tech. Well, that kid was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2008.

* Gary Sheffield - Had 2 illegitimate kids by age 17. Added a few more later on in life.
* Tom Gordon - Former relief pitcher had three illegitimate kids by age 17

I just want to know if these athletes pay the spousal support, and if they don't I hope the mothers of their illegitimate children will sue them for all their worth. I think that as athletes, who were buried by money and blinded by fame, they probably do things reckless like getting girls pregnant without considering the consequences.

They're not really all that much different from the general population at large. They just tend to have more women throwing themselves at them in droves so they have more opportunity to "knock one home" so to speak.

I worked in the garnishment department for a very large company for a few years and it wasn't uncommon to see employees with 7,8, or 9 claims for child support against them. At least with the pro athletes they likely have the ability to pay for most of if not all of them. (Not that this justifies it in any way, but at least the kids have something). Most of the employees at my former company in that situation were barely making $40k a year, and you're only allowed to garnish so much of their net checks by law (55% I think), so only the first few mothers ever see any support money. Sucks for them but the mothers aren't exactly innocent in the whole matter either.

Athletes are the largest and strongest among us. If we were any other kind of social animal, lions for example, the strongest lions would be planting their seed in every lioness that would take them. It's part of nature, I guess.

Also being very and suddenly rich at a young age has something to do with it.

Last count I heard about Travis Henry, now its 11 kids by 10 women.

Maybe those women thought that they'd win a lifetime child support from Travis Henry if they bear his children, which makes them idiots imo.

Last I also heard, he's currently in prison for trafficking cocaine.

Haha the Karl Malone stuff just made my day. I don't believe it.

Thanks. I just had a very disturbing mental image of a Stockton/Malone Eiffel Tower

7 for Shawn Kemp is an EXTREMELY conservative estimate.

How many of those children he had eaten when his weight ballooned out at the Cavs is still unknown...

Temptation, man. It's easy to say it's morally reprehensible from this end, but I know many an upstanding dude that, when he actually started having access to all this booty being tossed at him, just succumbed. Most of these guys I don't think are anything but nice guys, but I just have an inkling about what went through their heads.

The temptation is one thing, and I'm hardly one to judge anyone on that, but can't these guys use condoms? Considering the lifestyles they lead, there's a multitude of reasons why protection is an awesome idea.

Real men don't use condoms. Everyone knows that. :o

Good point. Real men infect their wives with cervical cancer too. :o

if you got a multi million dollar contract, get some condoms, not that expensive. or get her some birth control.

psh there's a website that will send you a case of condoms for free.

There's rumors of Dominique Wilkins having a couple of illegitimate kids. many say that's why he stayed in the league so long

Women throw themselves at athletes; golddiggers will have kids for cash. Actually, comic-chick, your signature, 'ugly girls are fertile', kind of segues into baseball. For years, when players have been slumping, the practice of "slumpbusting" was to sleep with an ugly girl. I'm sure there are a lot of illegitimate kids from things like that.

Also, for NBA and NFL players, women show up in the hotel lobbies looking for guys. Kevin Johnson is the only significant athlete I've ever heard of who repeatedly turned down those calls and advances.

ernie - i have never heard of slumpbusting until now

and i hope you know my sig is in jest. it's from a skype conversation amongst various members

This is not very reliable. Many of these women see a baby with a pro-athlete as their meal ticket.

Condoms or a vasectomy are the only way to go. The last thing you want to do is put procreation in a gold diggers hands.

CC is just trying to divert attention from her desire to be an NBA star's baby mama.

Tom Brady having an illegitimate child I knew about. He has a son with actress Bridget Moynahan and they broke up before she announced she was pregnant.

It shouldn't be in "jest". Just go ahead and say. Nobody likes fat girls anyway. . . unless you're @ a bar @ 2 in the morning and your friends will never find out.:o
