What are your favorite PC game marketplaces and why? Rant, review, compare, enjoy! :D

I have a Steam Machine because many games are available on Steam, but there are a handful of games that I would like to purchase that are not on Steam such as Overwatch, Garden Warfare, and Recore. I could link these guys through my Steam dashboard, and there respective marketplaces to Steam, though. But it feels like that won't be a permanent solution. I have been questioning whether or not I should reconsider using Steam as my shell and redirecting to the Xbox app or something. :hmm

So I can link the Xbox app and Store to Steam and I'm going to get an Origin account. As for Overwatch, I'll just buy the game from Amazon or a retail store for PC and then create a link through Steam.

Hopefully Microsoft evolves the Xbox app to become a true alternative to Steam Big Picture, which recreates the Xbox Dashboard on your PC. :)

Just a heads up for PC gamers Steam and Origin are having sales on popular titles this week. Origin has Battlefront 3 Season Pass for $40 and many more.

Well I tried and tried, but I was wrong. Windows won't allow me even as administrator to access the Windows Apps folder via Steam, so I cannot link the Xbox app nor the Store app. This is why I am hoping MS brings the Xbox One dashboard to W10, so I can link Steam to it. There's a XBMC (Kodi) skin that someone created, but I wanted something more legitimate. I understand the Alpha UI is also available to download via Dell.

So I'm getting frustrated with Steam Big Picture Mode as of late. They updated the system and it has this bug that will not allow me to change the default keyboard. It wouldn't be so annoying if the damn thing didn't break the functionality of my controller. Also there seems to be an issue with Steam's desktop configuration and third party controller to mouse software such as Controller Companion and JoytoKey. They are definitely not getting along.

So I just decided to turn off all configuration settings in Steam to bring it back to some form of normalcy. I miss the new way you can navigate the web browser, though. :(

I'm also looking into GOG Galaxy and Origin for some extra content. I know EA is the devil in the gaming industry, but I believe Origin is the only place you can get PvZ: Garden Warfare, Dead Space 3, and Star Wars Battlefront digitally. :(

There is one game I've been looking for and it's not available for any of these distributors, but I did find a physical copy on Amazon for $90. I won't name names, but any PC gamer may be hit with nostalgia once they see it. :D

^That was a fun game. Good fond memories.

I re-installed UPLay yesterday for the open beta of GR: Wildlands and just found out it's also available on Steam...

I've been bingeing on Lazy Game Reviews videos and he has been pushing my PC gaming nostalgia buttons like crazy. Also his voice is one of those "I cannot believe that voice comes out of that body" when I first saw his face. :funny:

I haven't tried UPlay, and there's a likely chance I will not use them. Ubisoft may have helped in giving us Rayman and popularizing parkour-based gameplay, but I refuse to give them my money.

I think steam is the best marketplace for gaming.

Their sales have been lackluster lately. Fanatical (formerly Bundle Stars) have had better deals recently. I bought Doom 2016 off them for 13 bucks few days ago (was going for 20+ during Steam's autumn sale few weeks just before).

Alien: Isolation Collection is currently going for less than 9 dollars (historic low):

You have to use Battle.net for Overwatch regardless of where you get it adding Overwatch as a non steam game is still the best option. There's also launch box that will categorize any game you have installed, even emulators, but it's not the most user friendly application.

Even though the Epic Game Store continues to offer free games, I'm never going to swap to the launcher the way I think they want consumers to ie to use it as their primary launcher & to stay in touch with friends.

I have however took a lot of the free games & tied them into my Epic account, some of which I already owned on Steam.

I'm building a Sphere PC. A GameSphere if you will. :p

I've designed the case to be made of two types of plastic. The bottom is solid while the top is translucent so you can see the internals. The two are segmented by a border with slits for ventilation along with more vents in the back. The I/O is primarily in the back while the front should adorn two USB 3.0 ports and a SD card reader. It needs to be big enough to hold at least a mini GTX or Radeon graphics card.

Never heard of these before but I Google'd Sphere PC case & this came up -

Are you designing/building the case yourself? As in fully custom?

I'm trying. I just need a professional who can manufacture such a case. I looked into 3D printing, but the case would be far too weak and costly if I go that route. There's a plastics company nearby, but they only manufacture for companies and in mass quantities.
