Penn. restaurant bans young children

Hell yeah. There are no shortage of restaurants that cater to young families; they should go to those instead of the nicer places I like to take dates to. I don't mind the noise, but I hate having my table bumped into by a parent running after their kid who's wandered off into the patio.

Good, they should do that in all restaurants.

No, I definitely think there are many restaurants that can, and should, be welcoming of young families. And young families should know well enough to go there, instead of other places that just aren't frackin' appropriate for kids under 6.

Best news so far this week.

I have no problem taking my son to Applebee's or Outback.

I wouldn't dare take him to Melting Pot (though I have been guilty of taking him to a fine steak house).

lol @ the parents arguing about adults making noise in the bar - the section of the restaurant designed for noise.

I think the Klingon philosophy applies in this situation: your son is old enough to go to a steakhouse when he can wield his own blade. In this case a steaknife. :)

Good. Next please ban anyone under 6 from being in a theater for any movie that's not G rated or obviously family orientated.

Some people brought their entire brood to Tilted Kilt one night when me and a couple people went. If you know of the place you already know it was not taken to kindly.

Somebody brought a 7-8-year old boy to the theatre when I saw Midnight in Paris. I mean seriously???!

thank god - the worst is spending $150 for a nice meal only to have kids screaming in the background

Be fair. An odd majority of movies for kids these days are rated PG, especially if they're made by Dreamworks.

seen parents bring their kids to see The Watchmen

I went there while on a business trip in ATL and saw the same damn thing. It was mother, father, sister, brother, aunts and uncles.

The boys were no older than 8. It's not a damn Chuckie Cheese.

They can go to the Dreamworks movies, but keep 'em outta the Pixar ones. :o :cwink:

Uhhh, that's just wrong in so many ways. What is it about an "R" rating that is so hard for people to understand?

I disagree with anything that bends to the will of complainers.

Of course you would support the crying kids, Super Ferret. You like anything that annoys the majority of people in a situation for the entitlement of one or two people. I remember how passionate you were about the rights of a woman to scream on her phone for 16 hours on the Amtrak quiet car. Sometimes I think you just enjoy staking a controversial position for attention.

Nope. I just think that people should learn the holiest of virtues: minding their own ****ing business and ignoring **** that doesn't concern them.

I get enough attention by being my own dashing self.

A kid screaming his head off at a restaurant when I'm trying to enjoy a steak with a date definitely concerns me.

I believe in you Triple J, you can ignore it. I know it's in you.

:whatever:

I finally found something more annoying than kids crying in a restaurant.

Don't like dealing with the public, DON'T GO OUT IN PUBLIC.
