Don't blame it all on W, remember we have a congress that has done pretty much NOTHING.

They let W take more power, foot by foot, more power than any President IN HISTORY has ever wielded, it is by far in my opinion, their fault. If they would have stood up against him....I don't think we we be as bad off....

It takes two to tango here people....
President cant do all that much without at least some sort of tacit approval

Of course, I am not saying he is not guilty....just not his entire fault.
Lets assing blame to both...not just our glorious W

Have you been drinking, Malice?

Nope....I want people to blame ALL the parties involved....
W is just one man.

The Congress is where the original designers put the majority of the power.
They have let the W take more and more.

I blame them partially for what has transpired for their shortsighted stupidity.

Couldn't you have just bumped up a George W. thread?:o

I guess....and I honestly haven't even seen a W thread to be honest....

Me neither, I just figured there must be some lurking around here, haha. :oldrazz:

Exactly. The evil liberals who have been in charge of Congress since 1932 are the ones to blame, especially Barney Frank because he had sex with the head of Fannie Mae, and Chris Dodd, because he killed John McCain's bill when he was chairman of the Banking Committee in 2005. Bush has had no power at all in the eight years he's been in office, and even if you were to blame Bush, blame him because he's secretly a Democrat in Republican clothes.

You honestly expected the Republican controlled Congress of the first 6 years of his presidency to "stand up" against him? LOL!

Well, the first six years the GOP-controlled Congress pretty much rubber-stamp all the legislations that W wanted passed, giving him unrestricted powers which he abused rather blatantly. The last two years the Dems have majority but too slim to overcome GOP's filibustering, so they couldn't really stop W much. I think Dems probably could've worked with W more, but why should they when W pretty much scoffed at them in his first six years in office? However, I agree that it takes both parties to solve the problems in this country.

Malice can trade thread probations with me if he'd like. :cwink:

I blame the American people for voting George W's dumbass into the White House. This last 8 years is mostly the fault of the American people. They wanted a man with an extremely low IQ, who likes to start wars with no honor and diginity behind it, and that's what we got. Blame the American people!

The first time around was understandable. The second time around was inexcusable. The man had no business winning re-election.

I agree. W lost the popular vote the first time so it was clear who the people wanted as president, but the second time around W actually won by a big enough margin that made me wonder about voters' sanity and intelligence.

That's not what I'm referring to. I'm talking about the fact that he presented himself as a "compassionate conservative" who was AGAINST nation-building. Well he lied to the American public on both of those rather large issues (especially considering he took us into a nation-building war that cost us trillions upon trillions of dollars). Unfortunately, it took a while for people to realize how big of a disaster the Iraq War was, thanks in part to the corporate media cheerleading us right into it instead of asking questions. Yeah, let's trust General Electric-owned NBC to tell us the truth on the war when GE is profiteering on it due to them being in the weapons manufacturing business.

Hey guys....did I blame the current Dem congress?
No I blamed Congress...the Rep Congress before was just as bad...
Once again, you see things in Rep/Dem

This is a simple fact...Congress gave the power to W.

Extremely low IQ?!?

I don't think people with sub-par IQ's can be president, even with the right connections.

He's actually a bit brighter than you give him credit.

And his scores indicate he's actually a bit smarter than John Kerry.

Intelligence is a subsect of Ideology. You "can't" be intelligent if you don't share the same ideology.

I don't think that's entirely the issue. Bush's verbal gaffes over the years are the main reason people think he's not intelligent.

Really, is this why he just stood there with a blank look on his face reading a children's book for 6 minutes, when he was told America was under attack? He was looking around as if to say, "don't tell me, tell the president, I'm reading a book". Or going golfing while families' loved ones are being blown apart and beheaded in Iraq. You can LINK me to any damn thing you like, but from where I'm standing the man is a complete idiot.

Oh I know.

Conservaties = stupid, but Liberals = holding the wisdom of the ancients.

So you think Bush has never shown signs of stupidity? Ever watched the man speak? He has zero handle on grammar and even makes up words. "Is our children learning?" Good question, Mr. President. "They have misunderestimated me." I guess we should add that word to the dictionary since you said it, Mr. President. And since when is nuclear pronounced "nuke-u-lar"?

I don't think that's entirely the issue. Bush's verbal gaffes over the years are the main reason people think he's not intelligent.
But Biden has repeatedly had "verbal gaffes" and "rhetorical florishes", yet is regarded at one of the Most brillant people to ever walk the face of the earth and has a smile like no other.

I regard him as a power hungry idiot. See, Ideology = Preceived Intelligence.

Since when are Biden's verbal gaffes even in the same realm as Bush's? Biden doesn't make grammatical mistakes. The types of gaffes Biden makes are usually what is known as speaking the truth instead of being politically correct. Bush saying, "Is our children learning" without even blinking an eye makes you wonder whether the man has any kind of idea of how the English language works. He makes up words too.
