peter and sylar pretty much have the same power except peter can absorb others powers and sylar kills others to take their power. peter can use the powers of the people hes come into contact with by remembering what it felt like, and that supposedly sets off the bomb.

anyway...

i think for the season finale, the thing that happens to peter with the whole bomb thing with happen to sylar. not sure exactly how, but its an interesting idea.

Well if things go the way the heroes want them too(stopping the explosion), then we will never really know the true nature of the bomb.

Sylar's powers is that he knows how things work by looking at them. He doesn't "have" to kill a person to absorb a power. Technically he can just either get an xray of their brain or open their head up and close it again and he can get ttheir power.

Peter just has to be within the vicinity and "think" about a person to get their power.

Sylar has complete control over his power and those he obtains. Peter loses control of his in his current state.

lol 110 views and no replies. awesome
you might as well have posted "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west."

and you've got it wrong, bulok. Sylar has to access their brain to get their power. the quickest way to do that is to kill them. Peter doesn't get someone's power by thinking about them; he absorbs another's power by proximity, but he can access the powers later through empathy.

it might work, but then sylar would need to kill the radiation dude, and that would be a verry interesting fight

I like how their powers are similar, but Peter needs to be 'good' (empathic at least) to use them while Sylar needs to kill people. Nice little good vs. evil theme there.

I still wonder why sylar didn't just take peters brain or whatever he does, after they fell off the roof in "home coming"
was peters brain to damaged at that point or did he just not have time?

I mean, if he just took peters power he wouldn't have to go around killing people for there power he'd just have to find them and get close to them

Well Sylar can't recognize 'Heroes' from regular people so he didn't know Peter was special. They revealed in this week's graphic novel that he was using a list to find them, but that Zane dude last week was the last person on it.
And yeah as you said Peter's brain was probably too messed up for him to use anyway.

er, that's what i said, you just elaborated :P

Anyone think they'll have an epic Supermen confrontation? After all, Peter and Sylar are two sides of th same coin... they'reboth really racking up powers like crazy...

Yeah I think that's what the writers are heading towards. The final episode of this season will probably be a big epic showdown between them, with Peter winning but something happening that will makes us all want to tune in months later for Episode 1 of Season 2.

That's what I'd do, anyway.

yeah, what he said
besides, why would Sylar want Peter's power anyway? Sylar can already obtain more powers... true, he wouldn't have to kill to obtain powers, but that takes all the fun out of it for a psychopath

Well the thing is, no matter what Sylar does, Peter will always have more powers the moment they meet again.

Yet though Sylar has corrupted DNA, getting anywhere near sylar will shut down his body like before, if he can't find away around it.

Peter went into a coma because he absorbed/copied/mimicked all of Sylar's powers at once. Now that he's been in contact with them already, it shouldn't happen again. Unless Sylar keeps getting more powers.

Peter didnt go into the coma because of Sylar's corrupted DNA. He went into the coma because he couldnt handle all the powers his body absorbed. Claire, Matt, Sylar(however many abilities he had)

i still haven't seen anything that says this is fact.

that's pretty weak. the graphic novels are one thing, but interviews with the actors? there has been nothing in the show to explain it. someone said before that the explanation came from within the show, not from without.

Well I didn't need the interview to understand it but you won't believe us so there you go ;)

Nathan said it too, while Peter was in a coma and he was talking to Simone. And Peter said it when he was talking to Claude.

Well the thing is, no matter what Sylar does, Peter will always have more powers the moment they meet again.

but peter will not have practiced with them
and won't be able to use them. also if they meet
sylar might have an advantage because peter wont
be used to the enhanced hearing pain

Sylar will save the day. He will NEVER be a good guy...but he will save the day anyways.

He and Peter are such polar opposites that they in turn will cancel eachother out. Sylar is the universe's check on Peter's ability. Ying to the Yang.

He will come to NYC and will be the only one who can stand up to Peter. He will not save NYC for altuistic reasons but he will be the one to fight Peter/ Uluru Manifest.

We used to look at the Uluru comic and assume that it was Hiro or Bennet who was facing off against Uluru. Let us not forget that when we first met Gabriel Gray he wore glasses as well.

"No one believed me, I am humanity's last hope" Those words are not something either Bennet or Hiro would say but they are definitley something we could imagine from Sylar.

This would be a huge twist. To make the bad guy...and he still is..the savior of NYC, but for his own personal reasons...

Peter and Sylar are starting to render every other character in the show moot and I dont think that's a good thing. They're both collecting powers like they're Pokemon.
