The Raimi films sort of forgot about them, never dealt with why Peter was living with his Aunt and Uncle. Never said how long he has lived with them, how his parents died, or anything. Never even mentioned them.

So, should the new Reboot films do anything about his parents? Mention them in any way? If so, how would you want it done?

That's a good question. I think it would be cool if there was a scene about when they died. Either in the regular coninuity of the movie (near the begining) or in a flashback. If not, no problem, but I'd like for the parents to be addressed at some point. It doesn't even have to be the first movie. What if Uncle Ben died on Peter's parents' anniversary (marraige or death)?

I think Peter's parents could be used in a storyline with Chameleon in a movie.

I wouldn't mind seeing Peter's parents especially in flashback.

But not as the super spy versions. Urgh, if I could change one thing about the Spider-man comics, it would be to change Peter's parents.

Yes I definately think they should have some flashback of his parents.

But I do think the emphasis should be placed on Uncle Ben, as his mentor, and the one who teaches him about the balance humor or levity brings to life.

I don't think they really need to bring up his parents unless its tied to the main plot somehow.

Like having Chameleon be connected to some spy thing they're involved with. Or maybe even go with the SSM route and have Venom's parents die in the same exact plane crash.

i always found the whole spy thing to be rather ridiculous

a mention of his parents would be nice though

Yeah, ignore the spy thing if you're gonna use them. That was dumb as hell.

There was this one great scene in some Spider-Man 600 or something, an anniversary comic with lots of short stories. One was called my Brother's Son.
Uncle Ben doesn't want Peter to forget his parents, so he keeps saying "Your parents would be so proud of you."
Peter keeps looking sad and depressed. Eventually Uncle Ben asks and Peter mentions how he wished that once Uncle Ben would say HE was proud of Peter.
Its a very touching moment, shows how Ben struggled with raising Peter and didn't want Peter to forget his parents.

They could do flashback scene like that, or some short mention of his parents like that. Plus show some photos in the background they don't really focus on.

I think they cn show them during the movies intro, along with spidermans origin.

They should definitely at least mention Peter's parents in this reboot and provided some sort of explanation to what happened to them. I never really understood why Raimi's films didn't touch on this at all. If they're going with a film that is going to be more about Peter Parker, then they need to acknowledge this topic in some way as it is very important information.

If the reboot is indeed inspired by USM, we will be hearing a lot about them, specifically Richard.

Imagine if Aunt May got together with Doc Ock,cause he wanted the Island? I still think that its connected to Peters parents somehow. Was the Island ever explained?

I would have never thought about this, but then in Raimi's Spider-Man 1 they had Peter says "I had a father, his name was Ben Parker."
It made me think, he had another father too.

Here's the scene:

Peter's getting ready for school. He comes down to breakfast and is narrating: "Uncle Ben and Aunt May practically raised me after my parents died in a plane crash when I was a baby."

Peter looks at an old photo of his parents on the mantle. He continues with his narration, "Don't get me wrong, I love Uncle Ben and Aunt May and they basically are my parents, I just wish I'd known my real parents."

Then Aunt May sets down a plate of wheat cakes.

That's all you need, really.

They could even have a scene, in some place in any of the movies, where Aunt May is sitting at the grave of Peter's parents.

I really like this a lot. If they did something along the lines of this or this itself I'd be happy.

BTW only the real Spider-man fans get the wheat cakes :awesome::awesome:

They should definatley include the parents if they decide to use the ultimate origin of the symbiote.
