How old is Peter now in the mainstream comic?

I figure him around 26 years old

good question. i thought about it and shouldnt he be like 40-50. He was 15 in 1962 lol

Pete is constantly 18 yrs old. Joey Q needs to get that young crowd reading comics.... ugh.

Someone once said that about every 50 or so ASM issues Peter ages a year. But with BND, I'd say that he is 24 years forever.

Well, Pete is in his late 20's......around 28 i'd say.....however, now he is regressed personality and experience wise to about 17 years old, it seems.

However, like others have said, he hasn't aged fully due to comics have them aged at a slower progression. But at least he aged nad learned,...up until now where he's regressed to the young hip (ha) 70's Pete. Hasn't learned anything from his past, whatever past that is, since he has TWO different histories now.

There was this really detailed thread I posted in when i first joined that had people go into the details of it all...

personally now i believe he should be in his early 30s...

If you go by TMOB's estimation 50 issues = One 616 year, Peter would be 27 today.
I reckon he should be more like 31 by now.

Of course, it's a redundant question, he will never age because he is Marvel's biggest character and that would be detrimental to his mass appeal.

The Parallel Lives graphic novel gives Peter's age at 15 on the day the spider bit him...during a flashback scene in the Alias comic book, we see the same accident as happening "fifteen years ago"...

That would make Peter 30.

Once upon a time, you could actually make sense as far as "growth" went with the 50 issues/one year ratio... and as time goes on further, that will probably increase due to not wanting Peter to age into his mid to late 30's...

But the formual came into mind when around ASM #400, they made the claim that ASM #150 happened 5 years prior, so 250/5 = 50 per one year. And when applied, it "can" make a lot of sense.

But remember, AliAs was written by none other than Brian "I don't give a crap about everybody else's continuity, I'm going to follow my own" Bendis...

He had his high school reunion in marvel knights making him 28. At least a year, maybe two has gone by so he should be 29, 30. You'll never get an official answer though, because he isn't allowed to be 30. After the Other his body was supposed to have gone back to how it was if he was a new-born adult, so to speak. So no injuries, scars or sign of age, which would make him physically... what? 20 maybe? And as time goes on and the issue of aging in the marvel U becomes more of an issue they'll probably end up just making him stay eternally 25. Still young but still an adult. But that last bit's pure speculation.

Mid-20s, probably leaning towards 27.

I remember Dan Slott or someone saying a year or two ago that there's a 12-13 year gap between FF #1 (the beginning of the Marvel universe) and now, so that would place Pete around 27ish. Isn't the rule of thumb something like 7 real years = 1 year in Marvel time?

That's true, however Bendis IS Marvel's top writer at the moment (actually the past few years and counting) so that may well be Marvel's official stance...

That's the rule you use for a dog's age... :oldrazz: :oldrazz: :oldrazz:

:yay:

28-30 if it's the in continuity Spider-Man.

I am not sure how old this new smuck is.

He doesn't seem to have lived or learned anything from his past.

But he has different and alternate histories now too, so it is confusing.

New readers, if there are any, when they read back issues, will notice the glaring differences in age, progression, and character with Spidey now. He is like a whole new person now, love or hate him.

Before BND I'd guess given what's happened and the way Peter/MJ acted somewhere between 29-31.

But with BND he has been regressed to 22-24. Yay. :whatever:

Yeah, I said 27 going on the 50 issues per one 616 year, because to my understanding Petey was 16 at the radiology demonstration.

Maybe without the benefit of being a responsible married man on his world now, Peter is in his late 20's but simply acts younger because he hasn't matured as much...

Just a theory...

I don't care how old he is... I've always pictured him as being in his mid 20's... (once he married MJ, that is)

Too bad he acts like 15. :whatever:

I always figured Peter to be 28. And that comic book time was fluid in a way that can be bent to suit the needs of the stories being told.
