I don't think, viewing all the commentaries on this forum, that I am the only who wants to see the Director's Cut Version of Batman Forever.
Warner Bros was suppose to release it with the Batman: Motion Picture Anthology but it didn't make it. So, if Warner Bros isn't decided to do it, let's push 'em. I want to launch a petition on the internet for the Batman Forever Director's Cut Version on DVD...but I don't know if I need a webpage of my own or maybe BATMAN-ON-FILM could help, I really don't know.

So, first I would like all the Batfans to tell me if they are with me on this project.

It'd be cool to have a Director's Cut of "Batman Forever," wouldn't make that movie that better but I think It'd be interesting to watch. Anyway, I don't think we'll get any DC of this movie. Let's take it for what it is, a solid action movie.

Why not? After all, there was absolutely no chance to see the Richard Donner Cut of Superman II, but it did happen and believe me, I think the work needed to put together the Richard Donner Cut was far more impresive than the one that it will take to recut Forever in its original version.

For some of you that want to know more about BF DC, take a look at this : http://www.batman-on-film.com/opinion_scissorpuppy_forever.html

I thought Nolan was pretty happy with the BB that was released.

What are yout alking about ??? We are talking about BATMAN FOREVER not BATMAN BEGINS !

Yeah, it isn't that difficult to release "Batman Forever"'s original cut but most of the missing footage was released as 'deleted scenes' on disc 2 of the movie's special edition so I think they have no intention to release another cut of the movie. And Joel Schumacher was pretty happy with the theatrical cut, too...

There is a already a Batman Forever SE on DVD.

45 minutes of movie footage were deleted from the final cut. On the DVD, there's only 14 minutes.

There will never be a "Director's Cut" on DVD because what we have is Shoemaker's favorite cut. Maybe an extended cut or alternate cut.

As long as it has scenes that could make Jone's Two Face a darker character, I'd buy it!

I don't think we'll see it anytime soon, petition or not.

I thought Schumacher's been quoted as saying he's not happy with the theatrical cut?

In any case, I think, eventually, it will happen. Not any time soon, unfortunately.

It would be a big commercial shot to release it along with the Begins Sequel in theaters. Like the old franchise in SE DVD along with the DVD release of Begins.
What do you think?

Joel Schumacher was pretty happy with the theatrical cut of "Batman Forever". And yes, we have only 15 mins. of the rumored 45 mins. of cut footage but, you know, I doubt we'll get an extended version of the movie anytime soon... petition or not!

Wah. I don't even read half the threads I post on. :word:

I wirte to BATMAN-ON-FILM and there are ready to show my petition and to put a link on their site. It doesn't that it is a BOF's petition but they are ready to make advertising for it (if I can say so).

So, I think that I am going to open a new thread and just left a message to sign to my petition.

This (Petition: "Warner Bros, we want Batman Forever Director's Cut!") thread can now be closed.

See ya on my next thread.

We’ve been waiting so long for the « Extended Cut » of Batman Forever. We all thought that it was going to be release with the Batman: Motion Pciture Anthology Box Set but somehow…this « Extended Cut » didn’t make.
I feel it’s time for us to show to Warner Bros. that we DO WANT to see that « Extended Cut » of Batman Forever to fully appreciate the potential of this movie. So I am doing this little petition for the release of « Batman Forever : Extended Cut ». Just left a message on this thread to sign the petition.
If you arn’t quite aware of what to expect of this « Extended Cut » , I suggest you to read this very complete article by Scissorpuppy: http://www.batman-on-film.com/opinion_scissorpuppy_forever.html

I want to see the Extended Cut aswell, But they will probably have to add or change some stuff in the scenes with CGI to make it fit together even better, considering most of the scenes werent completed.

Yes I want a Director's Cut of Forever! Let's see this movie's hidden potential.

If it is possible to improve in some way that film, I would also like to see.

I want to be a part of the petition!!! It would be very interesting to see the alternate extended cut, and I think it can be made someday. There is always hope!

It woud be nice to see BF "Directors Cut". Doesnt Warner want t remaster BF and sold more copies of forever? They will get a lot of money and we will see a lot of new staff on DVD, those edited and extended scenes in manor, bank and oth..Why not releasing Collector or Ultimate, Deluxe editions of old batman movies. My favourite was BF cause only in that movie i saw the spirit of 90's. The movie was toatally filled with that! So guys, im with you! Let's ask Warner Bros. to release another edition of Forever. Gothic Miracles are happen, who knows this time, maybe?:whatever:

I simply don't undertstand how there can be 45 minutes cut from the film. There is simply no evidence of it.

The bulk of the material we know is missing is in the deleted scenes on the DVD. Many of the other deleted sequences are very brief indeed. Looking at the drafts of the shooting script on the internet, there is nothing there we don't already know about.

Also, Forever is already two hours long, why on earth would Schumacher, having been given the remit by Warner Bros of making a family oriented Batman movie, make it nearly three hours in length?

What we had was WBs Comerically friendly cut, if we had Schumacher's cut or the way schumacher would have done it if he wasn't told to do everything so WB could release toys and sell Happy Meals we'd probably get a movie darker than Returns.. Schumacher is a great director look at 8MM, Phoneboth, The Number 23, Lost Boys.. We'd deff get a good movie!
