Hi guys.
I recently re-watched Batman (1989), and then dug out my old CD of the Motion Picture score.
Theres a scene right after The Joker kills his boss, when Vicki and Bruce are sleeping in bed, then later she wakes up to see him hanging upside down from a little frame, like a bat. I love the music in that scene, its sort of like mixing the gentleness of the 'Love Theme' with the main tones of the Batman theme, but its nowhere to be found on the soundtrack.
Chronologically it should be between tracks 4 and 5...

Anyone know if its available anywhere?

It isn't.

It's just one bit of, oh, I'd say 10-15 minutes of the score that's not on the CD. Or anywhere else. Shame, it's one of my favorite parts.

The same thing happens to the little bit of music from BR when Batman comes around the corner of the Cathedral just before taking out the strongman... the bold, string-filled arrangement of the Batman theme. Not anywhere other than in the film itself.

the official soundtrack is missing much of the score, however I've found on torrents that someone took the entire score off the film so you can get it in its complete form if you look hard enough...

I wish the music, when the Batwing flies into gotham was on the soundtrack.

Hmm. Oh well, guess I'll have to try and rip it from the movie or something.

Umm, that would be the track 'Attack of the Batwing'. Its most certainly there.

there are definitly parts left out on the score cd, which has upset me before more than once.

Yes and it's excellent. One of my favorites pieces from the film.

the track begins with the music of Joker telling his goons to reltase the gas.

I'm talking about the music when we get our first glimps of the Batwing, right after Knox tell's vickie to take the pictures.

but "Batwing approaches Gotham" is not, however I have it

That "complete score" on a torrent that someone mentioned is trash. All it is is the score is ripped from the film. With sound effects still in the audio, destroying the experience. Not to mention the fact that it's PAL, so it's 4% faster than it's supposed to be.

I like it, and hearing a few of the effects is kind of cool imo

Music complements a film, not the other way around. If you're listening to music with sound effects from the film, and not actually the watching scenes, that's lame.

lol, yeah, whats the point in that.

the sound effects are muted and not all of them are still present, in fact, very few are. The only times you hear them as I recall is a few shots fired during the axis chemicals scene, axis chemicals exploding, and the batwings engines as it approaches the city

you might as well just listen to the movie, Ive done that on my ipod quite a few times.

well no because again, most of the movie is gone besides the score. Also the parts ripped from the movie are used with the parts of the score that were official, so you get everything that was on the soundtrack release and the then the parts that are missing which are off the movie

Some of these bits and pieces of the score that weren't in the CD might've been the additional music composed by Shirley Walker.

You can hear all of the background foley that is in the surround channels.

not true, you don't get all the music from the soundtrack if listen to the ripped bootleg.

The soundtrack sounds so much better, Elfman was never happy with the sound mix in the finished film. If you want to hear the full, rich genius of Elfman and Walker - get the CD. Sure some bits are missing, but in reality there is so much more to gain.

We need a re-release CD set with extras.
