Quartet of stars join Martin's sequel.

US, August 9, 2007 - Four actors have been added to the cast of The Pink Panther 2. Joining returning stars Steve Martin, Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer in the Columbia/MGM pic are Andy Garcia (Smokin' Aces), Monty Python vet John Cleese, Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2) and Aishwarya Rai (The Last Legion).

Variety says, "Cleese will play chief inspector Dreyfus in the pic. Garcia, Molina and Rai have signed on as detectives and experts who join forces with Clouseau to catch the thief who has been stealing artifacts around the world."

The Pink Panther 2 will be directed by Harald Zwart from a screenplay by Scott Neustadter, Mike Weber, Lowell Ganz, Babaloo Mandel and Steve Martin.

The movie will open February 13, 2009.

I guess the first was more successful than i thought

I love the originals with Peter Sellers. Although it's a needless sequel of a remake, I say bring it on. I found Steve Martin's take to be just as funny. Jean Reno is back and they cast Alfred Molina, hell yeah! Looking at a lot of these posts I guess people just don't like Steve Martin. By the way, what kind of comedies do you people like anyways. No, "good ones" isn't a real answer. It seems like most people on this entire website don't have a funny bone in their whole damn body. If it's not comic films or some kind of action it's looked down upon.

I didn't see the original because Beyonce sucks at acting(But goddamn is she so sexy)... However the cast looks awesome for this film... Molina, Reno, Martin, and Cleese? Come on... Il'l check this one out.

What? Just look at the Superbad thread. People here love comedies, but not every comedy is worth loving, sorry.

Good comedy is hard. Very, very hard. That's why a lot of comedies are terrible.
