Jack Sparrow made a **** ton of enemies in his lifetime, didn't he?
He sure did...

At this point, probably pretty substantial. Being involved in the death of a major East India Trading Company official (and British Lord to boot) alone would have probably put him at or near the top of a lot of powerful people's "to kill" list.
Thats a pretty pathetic bounty for a notorious pirate even for the 18th century. It's like they heard complaints about the third being too big and made the 4th one too small in scale. Now they're like, let's split the difference.
The 4th one was too small scale and its still the most expensive. Disney just can't control the budget for these films.
The bounty is only 3 digits and appears to start with a 1. The poster in the trailer said "Two Hundred".

Thinking back on Dead Man's Chest, i realy liked the treasure hunt for Davy Jones's locker. I still think that film was a pretty good sequel.
As for the mermaids scene in Pirates 4, that was a great one, and in my opinion. the only truly great scene in that entire film. Everything else was kinda boring. Only character i actualy found enjoyable was Barbossa, as he actualy had a goal, and his transformation, as well as his exploitation of the new position he found himself in while working for the crown, were quite entertaining.

Is this legit? $320 million?

Not to mention it had one of the best endings of any movie, imo. With Jack being eaten and then that reveal of Barbossa at the end. Really got me psyched for the next one.
The British currency in the 18th century was worth more than the modern one. £750 in Massachusetts during 1750 (which is the year in which Pirates 4 is set) is worth roughly $48,000 in 2000.
I still consider Pirates 2 to be one of ILM's greatest special effects works. After a decade, those effect still look great, and i would even say they look more impressive than that of most new blockbusters. The 3rd film's effects aren't very far in quality either.
With how much ILM hyped Warcraft, i was hoping to be equaly impressed, but ultimately felt disappointed.
