OK, so I'm pretty sure that Disney and Bruckheimer will try to make it for a summer 2013 so I'm expecting the news to star around the end of the year.

What do you want from the fifth movie?

The sure things are:

Depp and Rush will be back.
It will be 3D.

That's it. What about the villain. What villain do you imagine for the next one?

I want to be Jolly Roger:

this is official art from Disney and it looks great. He can be supernatural villain ala Davy Jones and he has this great back story with Jack.

What do you guys think?

I just want a better told story all around than the last few movies, I havent disliked any of the movies since the first one, but non of them have come close to its quality.

Get us a good director who can tell a story and develop characters at the same time.

No mater the story, no Pirates sequel will ever get close to TCOTBP. Why? Because the first movie has something that no Pirates sequel/prequel will ever have. Introducing Jack Sparrow.

Seeing Jack for the first time was what made the first movie so great. I think they did the best sequel with DMC. Fun, Action packed and visually stunning.

I hope #5 is more like DMC

PS: What director do you want for the fifth? I will like it very much if Verbinski return.

It will probably be Rob Marshall again. Before OST came out, he and Johnny Depp were negotiating to do a fifth movie.

I didn't see the problem with Marshall, honestly. He's a fine director -- not as good as Verbinski, but he more than gets the job done. And he can shoot some beautifully-lit scenes.

But people, I don't know if Disney will schedule a fifth movie for summer '13. They already have Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, plus Depp's The Lone Ranger to contend with for December '12. I can see Disney scheduling the fourth film for summer '14, though.

I think Jack Sparrow's been overexposed. Maybe too much is not a good thing. I'd like to see more interesting characters.

Sincerelly, Dead Man's Chest was my favourite Pirates of the caribbean movie.
The soundtrack, the villain, the visuals, the story, the problem was that it was just a set up for the 3rd movie, even if that one had no Kraken.
I also liked Cuttler Becket

You need a new protagonist, Depp should not be playing the straight man.

Here's a twist, what if, Jack Sparrow became the villain

Doubt they'll do that since people love Sparrow, they don't want to be rooting against. And he's always somewhat been a villain or anti-hero in the first 3 movies. He had an alternative goal that clashed with Will/Elizabeth but in the end he did the right thing. That's why I think making him into the main protagonist in the 4th movie was a terrible mistake.

Don't worry i said that for the LOLs.´
I expected much more for On Stranger Tides, in the previous movie they seemed to have been building up the Fountain of youth and imortality seemed like what Jack Sparrow wanted most after freedom, i would have liked to see something like that instead of making him drop the idea of becoming imortal.
Another thing i didn't like was the complete disappearance of all the other characters, not will and elizabeth, i'm talking about the guy without an eye anad his friend (I know that the actor didn't want to return because he wanted to spend time with his family), the mute guy, the short guy, and Rosa Maria (if that was her name) should have taken the place of Penelope Cruz's character

Wasn't there a rumor of Tim Burton being top of Disneys wishlist of directors for the 5th pirates movie?

Besides Jack Sparrow, Joshamee Gibbs and Hector Barbossa coming back I would like to see Scrum, Pintel and Ragetti return.

I felt a scene where Blackbeard kills them all would've been a good way to introduce him. We'd see him using his sword--apparently it belonged to Triton according to some wiki, would've been nice to hear that in the movie or have it elaborated upon--to command the Pearl to turn on the old crew.

Perhaps Blackbeard managed to escape Hell somehow (reference to the "man so wicked that Hell itself spat him back out."), and was part-demon. His crew could've been homunculi or elementals of fire, tar, ship debris or something.

For me, AWE is still the best in terms of story and action. For OST, I didn't need something as world-shaking as AWE. The gist of racing for the fountain of youth was fine. What could have made it was delving into why these characters wanted to find the fountain.

Bring in Jacks' brother if he has one. Make him the complete opposite of Jack. Successful, well respected, dashing, and a Navy man possibly. Cast Hugh Jackman and you got an interesting dynamic.

Plus the womens will go ****ing ape****.

Slash fic tiem!:awesome:

I don't want the Penelope Cruz character anymore. I hated her in Pirates 4. I know the post-credit scene shows her with Jack's voodoo doll, but I hope they will not use her as villain. Just have her killed off by some stupid accident in the beginning to cover up that aspect of the story.

They also failed to make Blackbeard a menacing villain.

So we need a new villain who is menacing. Barbosso did a good thing in the first movie. Davy Jones was also a good villain.

I like the art of the first post. I don't know his backstory but it looks decent.

In the books
Jolly Roger is Jack's biggest nemesis. They played a game of poker (Jolly is like the Pirates Joker with the games and stuff) as the winner was to become a pirate lord. Jack somehow won the game and since then Jolly Roger wanted to get Jack's spot as Pirate Lord. There was something about a curse as Jolly become something like Barbossa in the first one with his ghost ship and undead crew.

There is a lot of potential for this character.

There's some kids books about young Jack Sparrow, then there's a novel "The Price of Freedom", I think, about Jack's time in the employ of Cutler Beckett.

I sincerelly found Pirates 2 to be the best one, i think that it should have cool moments like this:

I didnt think much of part 2 but moments like this were superb, I hated that the Kraken was killed off-screen in AWE, despite liking that movie better.

After rewatching some of DWC a couple nights ago, I enjoyed it more than I usually have. But I noticed apart from some scenes (primarily the Cannibal Island stuff) Jack is pretty much the way he is in the first film, except he's a bit "weird...er" because of being afraid of Jones. Which is fine.
