so what are peoples opinions on the new updates and add ons to the classic disney ride to make it connect more with the films

The whole ride is outdated, but the additions are nice. Depp was scared of Jack Sparrow. Hah!

The comments on that Youtube video suggest the Disney Land version of this ride is the one that was updated. The changes look like they were done well and add to the ride rather than detract from it. POTC and the Haunted Mansion were always my favorite rides as a kid, along with Space Mountain and The Matterhorn.

a lot of site are reporting it the one in florida that has been changed. the florida ride is set in adventure land where the califorina is in the same aera as the haunted manison

sorry but the cali one is more "vintage" than the florida one...the calie one was around before there even was a florida theme park..... so we should get historical rights...

but dont worry they are BOTH being changed.... i think its for the better the ride is basically the same and after you've ridden eighty times it gets kinda boring this spices it up WITHOUT overhauling it

I was in disney in march and was pissed as hell that they closed the ride for an updating. POTC was a classic

Didn't seem like they changed much to the ride, just adding some characters from the movie. I was done in Disney about a year and a half ago and riding Pirates thought it could use some updating mainly in the begining part where they have the sea battle, add a little more to it, make it a little more exciting.
