Just starting a thread for people to come and learn about new artist from people with common musical interest

I like a lot of Folksie type stuff.

Ray Lamontagne is AMAZING. If you like fantastic lyrics and a comforting voice, you have to check him out. All three albums are great.

then i reccomend to you, Frank Turner, he is a complete legend.

my favourite type of music is ska but i like practically everything.

I do like Langhorne Slim, I haven't gotten real into him, but i have liked what i have heard pretty well.

David Ford is also really good.

Amos Lee is getting more popular these days , His stuff is really good.

he's quite phenomenal live. his newest album (self titled) is solid, but its his previous albums that really stand out to me. here's a blog that has them all for download:

I used to watch videos of new music on youtube. Now they added streaming anything to the do not allow at work. So now i cannot watch youtube and cannot listen to pandora, and cannot download anything while at work. What do they want me to do ....

Work i guess

If you like Folksie I guess Noah and the whale might intrest you.

Damien Rice is good. I liked Cannonball alot even though it was over played too much in the UK when it came out.

Mr Squirrel. How goes it?

The Avetts are a Gem of wonderous proportions.

Have you checked out that weird concoction of Sean Watkins and the Switchfoot guy?

haha, I just noticed that you started this thread. lol.

I did check out Fiction Family and I like it. It's a very good cd in my opinion.

there's a website you can use that will look at what you listen to and recommend different bands and acts to you based on your playlists i think

I haven't not heard of last.fm but I have found pandora to be quite enjoyable. You can put in a particular song you like or a band or even just a genre. It takes information from the songs you like ( by approving each song it plays or rejecting it) and then plays similar things. Pretty sweet.

a couple of songs that I think people should know

The Frames - Finally

Walk on Fire - Roland Grapow
anything from Straylight Run
anything from Rev Theory
