First off Fox got the X-Men rights off Marvel on the cheap back when Marvel was struggling to get out of bankruptcy. If Fox just stopped making X-Men films they'd lose those rights. X-Men is by far Fox's most profitable franchise...EVER. Forget Star Wars because Fox only got a flat fee for those films since Lucas controlled everything including all profit. For Fox to see X3 make between 110-120+ million domestically on opening weekend (plus whatever international #'s are) and not make X4 would result in shareholders suing them. Spin-off's are fine but there are plenty of X-Men stories to tell that take place after or before the events in this story arc.

So place your bets. We all now Wolverine is coming but Fox is going to greenlight X4. What they're going to say is "The fans have spoken and there is clear demand for more of these films so we are going to make more."

It's so obvious it's funny.

We'll hear something by next weekend as we breach 200 million.

I hate speak of X4 knowing they have lost such an amazing opportunity with the Phoenix icon. Sorry but I had to say it.

and none has commented the flying effects of Storm? I remember seeing the writers saying that she flyies both vertical and hortizontally. did you see that? because I'm not. neither "Phoenix" fly was good. Come on!!! Have they seen Superman films, or the new sequel by Synger??? It is that they are not capable of doing it?

Really really SAD!

i bet 100$....... but ill win it in ten years from now:(

Give the rights back to Marvel. Let the guys who actually wrote the Comics make these Movies. The Fans have Spoken & says FOX sucks with these Movies. They had an amazing Director for X1 & X2 they ****ed him over Twice & did not bother to want to keep him the Third Time. So I say

**** FOX

X-men 3 got 44.5 millions on one day yesterday domestically so I think we can expect a sequel and it broke the record of Spider-man and Harry Potter of having so much millions in one day. I want a sequel to pretty much explain me more the whole profeesor thing, magneto gets his power back and maybe some more. I wonder tough if Fox will react to the many comments of people about Cyclops death.

I sincerely hope that the producers of X-Men (including Hugh write himself in as the leader and love interest Jackman) don't take these numbers as a sign they "got it right."

If we all remember Batman Forever was the biggest of that franchise and look what happened there.

You got lucky Fox. Don't press your luck. Put in the time for a quality X4 next time or this franchise is as good as dead.

I have a seeling it be released in 2009/10 if they do make the movie.

I'm sure right now Fox isn't the ideal studio for this beloved comic. Just see what other studios has done with their big action films, like Kin kong, and War of the worlds, and surely Superman returns.

The X-men should have a big screen adaptation, not a mediocre one, like this sequel has been.

Fox won't give up the rights to X-Men to Marvel or anyone else so you can forget that scenerio. Some of the people here are just too anal and nitpick about things without thinking. What you see on comics can't translate to film as you may wish without resulting in a goofy movie that the general audience will not want to see. They have to make things for the mainstream as well as please the fans. It's just the way it's gonna be when you make a 200 million dollar film. They can cater to some small niche of fanboys.

To bad the director for X-2 wanted to do Superman Returns instead.

One thing I have a feeling they should have asked the dude who did Batman Begins

they will announce it like in september when they have their quarter meetings post summer

and the release date will be....Memorial Day 2009 following Wolverine summer of 2008

they will wait till dvd sales. right now dvds are making more money then in theaters. if they make a ton of bank on the dvd. im sure marvel and fox will confirm a 4th... and it will be called "x-men: show me the money"

We know that stop using that argument its getting very tiring we know that. But you have to admit these Movies would be better off with the People that actually write the Comics the Movies are based off of. The People that know these Characters better then the Characters know themselves. FOX is to much of a bull**** Studio & instead of giving the Movies the attention it deserves they let stupid ass things get in the way. FOX is not the right Studio for these Movies

I don't want Fox to ever make another Marvel film. They are wreckless and foolish with the properties. Ritalin is probably something Brett Ratner could use.

X men IV:Rattner v. Singer They would be allowed to inherit(draw out of a hat)4 powers each. Directed by Steven. (Mr Spielberg to you jabronies :))

Don't they need something to pair off with Superman Returns 2? ;)

Fox will think "We were right! We CAN do whatever we want with this franchise."

I liked X2,X3, and FF to a much lesser extent. Ratners's been pretty damn successful.
